PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It looks like the club are really worried about the outcome, eh ?...

The football club (Yup that's what it is) is being swamped by other interests, now some people may like this but it leaves me fucking cold.

When City threw everything we had at APT we had about 40 goals VAR’d off but still hit the net with four.

The PL have thrown the kitchen sink at us. They are bound to have won a few. I doubt those few will be anything major but we will see.

If any organisation has been forensically examined to the extent that we have they are bound to find something so I would be astonished if there was no punishment at all…that would be absolutely hilarious.

Point is there will be plenty of wins for both sides but it’s only when the punishment is known that people will realise who actually won and, as I understand it, that’s another hearing.

So get ready for both sides to claim victory and City to appeal the severity of any points deductions (if there are any)

The only thing that is certain is the legal teams get paid…twice.

I understand that for such a lengthy hearing, covering so many different charges (albeit in groups) that the written judgment will be very long. Maybe the panel will make a nice little executive summary for us to read.
If the press release headline is the same as the CAS one I’ll be fairly happy, but even better without the non-cooperation bit

They will - but it is by its nature, headlines

Very unlikely. Prepare for it to take a week or more for any proper detailed analysis. I don't think people realise how long it will take to digest the full thing. Headlines will rule for a long time.

If proper analysis will take a week, the PR battle will likely be won and lost by the immediate statements put out by City and PL.

Every chance there’s a repeat of the APT 1 with both claiming victory.

That scenario will cause mayhem on an unprecedented scale.

To be fair Mexico, I don’t think we’re being swamped - the hotel bookings and management are being fully outsourced - the only real effort on the club will be accounting for the money rolling in :)
In this forum alone we have fans from all over the UK and the World and sure lots will appreciate a decent hotel attached to stadium.

City pays Pannick & Co, the PL pays Lewis & Co, but who pays the panel?

There's already fucking mayhem and has been since they announced the charges. What's another week, two, five etc.

I think it's absolutely fantastic, our owners are the best in the land and all the world. If a club stands still you end up like the rags, living off past glories. You can get away with it for a while but eventually you're knackered. You end pretending to build a national stadium and go begging to the UKGOV to fund it.

Maybe you are underthinking it ;).

Listen, all fair. I said what I had to say, happy with the responses that disagree.

Doesn't change what I think, that would take years of media behaviour otherwise to budge.

While we are at it, if this does go against us, Stefan may want to prepare himself for getting all his historic quotes on the seriousness of the charges thrown right back in his face by the same media that asked for them in the first place, and he'll fine well know it.

I was ready to drop it a couple pages back, but keep getting drawn back in by some of the responses.

Not much more to see here.

Just when i thought I was out, they pull me back in

Hotels and music venues are nothing to do with football, our stadium should be a shrine to football not a theme park for tourists to have a day out in a Disneywonderland.

Totally disagree.

Big Steve has been consistent, defiant, and exactly as you say, defended the club to the hilt. I applaud it btw, for absolute clarity. He has continuously stated, he trusts the club, the owners, the chairman, he believes we have done nothing wrong.

Do you REALLY think, the fucking BBC (maybe harsh on ITV to bracket them with that) or other media outlets, if they thought the verdict was in our favour, would be inviting him (or any such loyal blue) along for a chance to show his faith has been merited, or to show his relief, or that he can now look forward to putting this behind us slowly etc?

Not a fucking chance.

If he has been invited (I don't doubt what he says), imo it is to be used in a 'look at this poor die-hard City fan' way. To question if he feels 'betrayed', if he feels his trust was misplaced, what he thinks of the owners now, if the achievements feel tainted etc etc. Imo, sorry, it can only be a fucking set-up and nothing else. I just don't trust those cunts one bit for anything past that.

That's exactly how the neville carrager skybet shows he has been on have previously framed it too btw, and I think the bbc would jump at that angle if it was bad news for us. And ignore what Steve or City fans might think, if it were good news.

That's my own take, but I frimly believe that.
I doubt the BBC or ITV know the verdict but probably know it’s imminent.
They are probably just preparing to cover story either way with fans of City, rivals and so called experts.
After all when it breaks it’ll be the biggest story.
I’m not reading anything into it, good or bad.

Unavoidable. CIty's own legal team with all their understanding of their pleaded case and the submissions will still take some days to process and evaluate. So from a standing start, it is impossible for it to be any other way. Needs a few reads to digest too.

I did say that some fans will like it mate but I see it as the death of football or the start of it, special super tunnel clubs and 4 star hotels whilst other less important fans can't even sit with their friends and relatives.

IF we do ever end up shit again our shiny complex will look like the fairground in Zombieland.
