If anyone is wondering what’s great about America, come and see for yourself!

But, like an American going to “England” and only seeing London, please don’t ONLY go to New York and Orlando, ffs!

See the REAL AMERICA, in all her glory, and not, and meet REAL AMERICANS in the smaller towns that hold the vast majority of our citizens, and you’ll love America for what it is, what it can be, and for all she has been for generations of immigrants who have made good lives here.

Yes, we have our high profile negatives, but they literally have no effect on most people, most of the time. None.

Lastly, ignore politics. Don’t talk about it. Just be human, and smile, and America will smile right back at ya!

Oh, and in case you didn’t know, America is at least 6 or 7 different “countries” rolled into one, so if you do a teeny amount of research, you’ll understand that the NE is nothing like the SW, either in climate, geography, or personality, in ways that Italy isn’t Germany and Spain isn’t Norway.

We are living in a strange time and while 1/5 of Americans elected this idiot, I’d venture 1/3 of them are beginning to realize their big mistakes and another 1/3 have yet to realize it. Don’t paint America with Trump’s brush. He is just passing through.

On the subject of Jayne Mansfield, I spotted Mariska Hargitay is in the top 20 Hollywood earners. $29m a year. That is some money.

The cast of Friends were all on $1M per episode, and it’s not been on the air for about a decade, other than syndication!

Same for The Big Bang Theory.

Production of “syndicatable” shows (after about 100 episodes, there are enough for a steady B Channel rotation that brings in consistent ad dollars) often help make their actors wealthy.

Hargitay is stretching herself at this point (lots of cosmetic surgery!) but the show is on almost continuously. Fun fact: “About half” the actors in Hollywood have played a role in the various manifestations of Law & Order over the years. For some, it was their big break!

Coincidentally the same year that The Apprentice started. Clearly, Trump had Friends shut down to avoid being beaten by them in the ratings.

America is IMO far less like the UK than anywhere in Europe.

And culturally, to pick a few places I've been, California, Alabama and New York are *more* different to each other than Sweden, France and Albania are.

(Only from tourist and business visits, so highly superficial, obviously)

Said just this today, European countries should boycott for sure, Mexico perhaps withdraw, Canada boycott, Arab states boycott, action like this would present a unified world view that couldn't be ignored
