Club World Cup - Summer 2025

I respectfully refer you to my post on page 2
Doesn't change my opinion.

having been overseas to various places not once was us being club world champions a thing, go to asia it's all prem, la liga and champion leagues, this comp won't suddenly become relevent because it's been revamped made bigger and moved to summer.

Honestly rather players were rested, this season has shown they bloody beed it

the exposure with winning this across the word wont be far behind the CL if at all behind, this is what our owners want, maximum exposure sells shirts and brings in top sponsors, those that are saying waste of time realy have no idea about business marketing, decent prize money so whats not to like?
Be the same people that hate the champions league. In 1930 was the World Cup deemed massive when Uruguay won the inaugural tournament, but look at it now, everyone knows that Uruguay won the first World Cup.if city win the cwc we will always be remembered as the first club to ever win this tournament.that’s my opinion anyway

It's not £250 million for winning it.
Estimate based on the announcement today is a max of $100mil which is c£77mil.
Something like this, maybe …

Prize money:
Winners $125M x1: 125M
Finalist $62.5M x1: 62.5M
Semifinalists $31.25M x2: 62.5M
Quarterfinalists: $15.63M x4: 62.5M
R16s: $7.82M x8: 62.5M
Groups: $3.91M x16: 62.5M

Total prize money $437.5M

Appearance prize total pot: ($1B less prize money): $562.5M = $17.58M per team

So $21.5M just for turning up, to $142.6M for the winners. The CL this year was about $20.7M before win bonuses and all that.

loving how no one here wanted this crap to happen ayear ago, mainly due to player burn put and a complete disinterest a year ago, but now all we have is a possible FA Cup, many trying to fimd excuses why its the greatest competion created.

5 years pushing ourselve beyond 100% have left us burnt out, our players need a good rest in nthe summer somethimg the stupid Qatar world cup timing amd later seasons end robbed them off followed by the eutos being ater than usual.

the prize money is good, but I am more bothered about the season after thann this

How is it a Shit competition? I guarantee that City will not cruise through our group like we did in the old CL since Peligrini. I can also guarantee you that not one team in this so called 'shit competition' would concede 7 against Arsenal!

Barely anyone in the country (not even the majority of their fans) wanted United to enter the European Cup in 1958, except Matt Busby! The FA tried to stop him, but he won!,

They tried to belittle Brian Clough, and he won!

There are trying to do it with City now (the Premier League, Uefa, the Press, even La Liga)! We wont be beaten tho, there is a reason that Pep signed on for 2 more years, (this latest attach from the Spanish FA, is no different to when our FA tried to stop he wearing the yellow ribbon for Catalonia, Pep wouldn't back down)!

Our (and Newcastle's) owners are some of the richest and most powerful people in the world, they wont have thier named or nation tarnished!

Just for some context, the man who has re shaped boxing and taken the £1bn plus a year industry from USA without Trump mentioning it (Turki AlaShiek) works for Newcastle's Owners!

Our Owners mate Khaldoon, Brought the F1 season finally to Abu Dhabi, whilst also being the chairman of
Manchester City
Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation,
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
Emirates Global Aluminium

This 'Shit' competition a gift! laugh at them!
You can't guarantee a thing. Do you honestly believe that Al Ain are a better football team than PSV Eindhoven?

I suspect this is amongst the reasons we had a spent so much in January. The big aim for the owners is to win this tournament, earning the money and the prestige on offer. We will aim to do so with a team that has had six months to integrate new players with the bonus of re-introducing long term injuries like Rodri and Bobb.

It will hamper the beginning of the PL season - so it will be interesting to see if some players are held back to prepare for the PL, or when any new players for 25/26 arrive - but they have had a long time to plan for this and will be ready as possible.

Thank God you're not in charge of planning club strategy . It's a bigger competition than the CL . Guess some people are yearning for York away type days .
If it wasn’t bang in the middle of summer then great, crack on and let’s make lots of money. But it is and when we’re decimated with injuries all next season and struggling like we have this season because the players are fucked and on their arses, at least we can all enjoy the moment our accounts are released.

All day long, still more concerned about the negative impact this might have on recovery and prep for next season tbh. Understand the money will make it a priority though

You don't really want justice for them though do you? You're just using the deaths of those people as cheap ammunition whilst you play out some petty tribalistic bullshit. Same as any other fan who only brings it up in conjunction with bashing Liverpool Football Club. I doubt fans of Juventus or the families of those who died at Heysel care for very much for that kind of solidarity.
You don't have a clue what I want so don't be so presumptuous.

You can be who or what you like,as an apologist for ferral dippers,I don't care.

I only deal in facts.

I’m staying in an air bnb in downtown Orlando,no not renting a car way too expensive,I’ll be using public transport
Im flying from Atlanta to Miami , staying on the beach and then getting a bus up to Orlando that morning for the game at 3 o clock. I haven't decided whether to head back that night or stay in Orlando for one night.
Generally skipping Orlando as im not really into the theme parks

Lived here for 64 of my 69 years, it has all of the problems of any urban metropolis. I haven't encountered any of them. Looking forward to meeting some of you and raising a pint or 5.
BTW, the "Rocky" steps are at the Museum of Art not City Hall they are at either end of the Ben Franklin Parkway, on of the world's classic boulevards.

Last time i was in Philadelphia, they had the rocky steps closed off as they were doing some football draft presentation, so i missed out on running up the steps. This time I'll be doing it with an old tracksuit, might put a hole or 2 in it for authencity

With or without the dippers in the tournament doesn't make any difference to me. The dippers are not the super team the media make out. The injury crisis at City has pushed us out of a title challenge, not how good the dippers are. Proof last night against PSG. They got absolutely battered by PSG and they scored with 3 mins to go, only having 2 shots in the entire game, to PSG's 30 shots. Similar to our game v the dippers, dominated the game but no end product without Haaland playing. Their entire game revolves around a good old fashioned boot up the pitch for their forwards to chase. I've seen them get away with this tactic all season and have really rode their luck on upteen occasions. Luck doesn't last forever but quality will always last lot longer.
So even if they were at the CWC it wouldn't bother me a single bit, they're not that good !!!!

Or they put in a "European Masterclass" as TNT put it......

Yet if we'd played the same it'd be a case of "they got away with it against a far better team"
