President Trump

I'm all for protest and Trump can fuck right off but never ever vandalise a golf course..Its just not right.

I would never play the place though or touch twitter.
Private golf courses are considered by some to be an elitist use of the countryside and would better serve the public as, well, public parks or wildlife reserves open to all.

Now I would never condone hiring a JCB from Limerick and driving down in a convoy to return the place to nature, but I could well understand if it were to be organised for the next bank holiday weekend. (Paddy’s Day for example)

Just saying. It would be terrible of course if it was to happen.

Amazon is the one for me. It's going to be a big inconvenience and probably cost me more, but if enough people do it that would send a very loud message.
Just cancelled Prime, haven't had the chance to give feedback why yet. I use Amazon a load, we normally get a delivery at our house every couple of days.

Unless it's an emergency I'll shop elsewhere.

The suffragettes did a nice job of getting onto golf courses at night and filling in the holes but doing no other damage. That way the chaps didn't know their long walk was spoiled till they got to the green. Imagine how that pissed them off!

Surely if he decided to invade, someone somewhere would advise him it would result in war against the commonwealth. The last thing he'd want, even if they'd win, is a war on his doorstep, not sure the American public would be happy getting bombed.
I think that he thinks they're completely untouchable, nobody in his own country would go against him and no other country would dare defend themselves and therefore he doesn't give a shit.

He could take control of the panama canal tomorrow, they'd be condemnation worldwide but that's it, no genuine action against them, they'd be nothing to physically stop that from happening.

Taking greenland or canada is much trickier as that's a declaration of war on denmark/canada, both Nato members, so they'd be declaring war on the rest of nato as well as resigning the US from it.

That's surely out of the question even for him just yet, but if they're fully getting into bed with Russia, it might not be all that unthinkable within a relatively short period of time.

I would suggest he probably wants Greenland as the priority, not just for the resources there but so he can have a formidable forward military base there to act as the first line of defence/attack in the Atlantic and wouldn't be surprised if his focus turns to trying to strongarm it from Denmark.

Trump says he is suspending tariffs on many Mexican goods for one month

President Donald Trump has announced that after speaking with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum he has agreed that Mexico will not be required to pay tariffs on anything that falls under the US-Mexico-Canada-Agreement until 2 April.

His post reads:

After speaking with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to pay Tariffs on anything that falls under the USMCA Agreement. This Agreement is until April 2nd. I did this as an accommodation, and out of respect for, President Sheinbaum. Our relationship has been a very good one, and we are working hard, together, on the Border, both in terms of stopping Illegal Aliens from entering the United States and, likewise, stopping Fentanyl. Thank you to President Sheinbaum for your hard work and cooperation!

Only problem with that is Mexico was not required to pay tariffs in the first place.

Tariffs are not paid by countries, but importers who buy products from businesses in the targeted countries. In this case, US tariffs on products from Mexico are paid by the US companies importing those products.

Take Target – The retail giant’s CEO noted earlier this week that it relies heavily on Mexican produce during the winter months. Fruit and vegetable prices would likely rise swiftly on the shelves of its US stores, he warned after the tariffs were imposed.

The Commonwealth is not a military alliance. There was no war with the Commonwealth when Reagan invaded Grenada.

We should rename the thread “Captain Climbdown”

He has just been handed his arse by the markets.

His very own Truss moment.

Only things I remember about the US invasion is 1) that Thatcher was pissed over the disrespect shown, 2) it remains the US’s biggest solo military victory in living memory - 7,500 troops against the mighty Grenadian army of around 1,000 troops and a donkey and 3) US forces killed nigh on 20 civilians when they accidentally bombed a mental hospital; which kind of sums up the US to be honest.

US force was several hundred troops. British response was a London policeman. We won!.
Cometh the hour...

I mean, seriously, what is the fucking point of this tedious nonsense? It’s like Tuesday is tariff day and Thursday is no tariff day. And voters prior to the election were captured on film saying they liked Trump’s economic policy. Fucking Krusty the clown had a better grasp of economics.

I mean, okay we had Truss but we did pit her against a lettuce which as a test for deciding leadership competence has a 100% success rate. Trump vs a mango would be a ratings winner. Although, we may have difficulty telling them apart.
