PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Does tolmie have a good recent record? Seemed to me a bit like when he moved over to twitter he was doing a few posts just for engagement/ to get a reaction. (I've not been on twitter for a long time)

FWIW I'd be very surprised by a Friday release.
Why? These releases often happen on Fridays. Sometimes the info goes to both parties on a Friday in advance of a comms release on the following Monday. Lots of people are impacted by possible news like this. It includes all our investors and sponsors especially those who are in the stock market.

As much as I really hope today is the day we are put out of our misery, they won't release it officially until the parties have had time to consider it and after the draft judgement is given to the parties there will be leaks galore before the official judgement.
Maybe we’ve already had the draft judgement? I can’t see it being too close to the England match with it being Tuchels first game , as it will totally overshadow it.

I presume that, when Sam Lee talks about the PL's confidence, he's passing on information he's been told by colleagues from The Athletic. I'm not saying that to have a go at Sam, but I just think that someone like Ornstein has much better connections among the kind of people likely to know how senior PL figures feel about the way the case has gone. I don't think it counts for much anyway. Both sides are highly likely to try to project confidence until the outcome is known.
The PL leadership have been feeding fake information to their trusted cronies at AFC, Spurs, LFC and MUFC. Some of those trusted cronies have then fed stuff to their own trusted media cronies. This is how it works and has done since day one of the process. The info has been designed to damage City and bears no resemblance to the truth.

@slbsn Who makes the announcement?

Surely it’s the Premier League who does it, and it will be on their terms.

The best time of the week to ‘bury bad news’, at least in the pre social media age, was Friday evening. Although this isn’t something you can really bury.

This isn’t going to be released on a Friday evening.

Also the Athletic and most media outlets want to attract the masses, if they put out a "rumour" of our guilt they are inundated with views and clicks and hence make money, and the opposite would be the case if they rumoured we are going to be cleared.

The media play games they have to survive in these strange times.

This and only this no sane legal team is going to get paid millions of pounds and come out saying well i've made a right arse of that.
“Yeah, cheers for the money Richard, but I got absolutely fucking walloped by that Pannick. Anyway, off to Barbados for a month, cya.”

So we should hear from Ziegler this afternoon ..... :)

If it’s apocalyptic for the PL and we’re cleared of all charges they might not leak it.

They could release it, put the statement out and say they’re consulting their legal team and making no further comments.

The best time for that course of action would be a Friday evening. No further PL comments or statements until Monday morning when the hurricane of bad PR has blown itself out a little bit over the weekend and people have the actual weekend’s football to talk about instead.

If I was in the unfortunate position of working in the PLs Comms team that’s what I would advise.

I’m not sure of the logic in that.

Rumour of guilt - masses click on it because they want us to be guilty.

Rumour of innocence - masses still click on it because they want us to be guilty.

I’m sure everyone’s been thinking for moons now ‘it’s gonna be a Friday in March’.

Now it’s the first Friday in March everyone has collectively lost their minds.

I’m now preparing myself for the ‘the last Friday in March’.
Whilst in the mean time discussing how to properly cook salmon, the latest developments on Corrie and being able to tighten one more notch on their belt buckle.
