Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

There should be a middle ground between "winning a 5th title in a row" and "poor defence with attack that has games where all creativity disappears".

This season hasn't been the disaster some think, and we knew a drop off was coming, but the issues extend beyond the results. We were carved up in the UCL repeatedly.

Football stylistically has gotten a lot faster, mostly as a response to Peps domination. We need to adjust to that.

For one, maybe playing in our really fast, really strong striker from deeper runs instead of hobbling up to the box then passing it around aimlessly before trying to loft a cross in to him while hes triple marked.
Disaster? not sure about that tbf. Every transition season is alway rough and shityy , you can’t expect to all that with bad luck with all the team injuired

Still a number of signings away from properly refreshing this side. We really struggle to create meaningful chances with the possession we have. Defensively I thought we were not too bad at the back until we went for it towards the end in terms of pushing bodies forward ( without threatening) and got caught again on the break. It’s going to be a battle all the way to the end of the season when we hopefully can start a serious refresh. Need a couple who can add some creativity and add a few goals. KDB is done, Gundogan is done and will take some replacing. Bernardo looks knackered and devoid of the spark he once had. We need at least 2 of them replaced , a Walker replacement and the wide men need to up there output dramatically next season. Khusanov outstanding again.

Agreed. A major clear out is needed. Will it happen? I doubt it. I don't think the club would allow that many established players to leave, irrespective of the fact that many of them are not producing the goods.
Oh its not happening in one window. We have made a mess of the recruiting over last 18 months, will take us some time to fix that. Maybe 4 transfer windows!!

Wow and again wow!! You’d think we were Southampton or Leicester at the bottom of the league!
I think too many of our fans have
a) forgotten the success of the past few years
b) become extremely needy
c) forgotten just where we were when the new owners came in
d) started to feel entitled
e) forgotten that, despite their high wages, footballers are just ordinary human beings.

I’ve started to choose my reading very carefully recently as I’m getting more and more uptight about some of the postings.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion I will never dispute that but I find that so many of the threads are critical of the players and the management.
There are things they could do better possibly but I can’t remember the last time I started to read a thread that was a positive thread!
Sorry but it just concerns me that the club we, well ok I, love and have supported for so many years is being undermined at every step. Sorry. I will now retire to the naughty corner.
:-( :-( :-)
Well said Ma'am. Whereas I don't think today was a great performance. It wasn't an easy match against tough opponents and we had quite a few very young players out there who will improve. There was a couple of mistakes for their goal but we are no longer collapsing like a souffle or being opened up at will and Forrest defend very well.

again go back to history of all league winners in the past and tell me which club could sustain this far at the top of the chain
Never said that mate
But I expect a level of performance
That was shocking
Forest are decent hard working outfit but
We should be though doing a hell of a lot more than keep ball on the half way line allowing
3rd in the league sitting in 2 banks of 4 at home!!!!!

Pep spends games now throwing his hands up in disgust instead of actually coaching. I honestly think he's done.
Just said the same to my son, he seems to have lost the ability to change things and make things better during games, in actuality, his changes today made things worse. Not sure if he has much or any say in who comes in (transfers) but if he does, he's losing it there as well.

To go from losing 15 games in 5 years to losing 15 games in 5 months means we need to cut the head off the snake. Enough is enough.
I think the unprecedented injuries this season needs to be factored in but I’m sure discussions will be had at the top and a list drawn up.
I think good chance city cleared 115, Pep knows club and his achievements not ‘tainted’ and he tells khaldoon best his goes. New bird and some R&R

We had a lot of possession and did nothing with it. It annoys me seeing a bench with Gundogan, De Bruyne on it. And Grealish who we know isn't going to play.

I am impatient to rebuild. Perhaps too impatient but I hate watching games like that.

I know you are hurt and pissed off , so am I ,,
take a walk and get fresh air or hunt your neighbors dog

still can’t believe VAR didn’t even look at Yates blatant elbow on Marmoush. It would have been a red card in a fucking rugby game let alone football

Poor from ederson for the goal. Great save earlier in the game.
Didn't create anywhere near enough chances. Haaland may as well have not been there as the midfield didn't do anything for him.
If savinho and doku are both playing, it should be savinho on the left and doku on the right every single time for all of the game.
