I get the feeling his best position is the exact position Foden plays in.

Can we play both together?
I think Phil needs to play more as an 8 than a 10, personally.
When Rodri returns, my midfield, at this point, would be Rodri, Gonzo, Foden.
I'd have Bobb and Marmoush as my tens.
And I would have Sav and Doku as wingers.
I am sure we will augment that line-up in the summer.

I think we’d get run though at will with that side though.

We’d have Rodri and Foden as our midfield…

Isn’t bobb really a winger though?

I'd play the three together with a false nine option, or with Haaland but no ten.
There is also the option of a back three - Gvardiol/Dias/Khusanov - for example.
Haaland needs more support because if the wingers are consistently doubled-up on, there has to be space centrally.

We just need more legs and bite in midfield.

We already play with a back 3 really, with the 4th jumping into midfield wherever possible.

So if we’re going to play the Rodri/Gonzalez double pivot, then that leaves 3 spaces behind Haaland. 2 wingers and a 10.

This then leads me back to the “can Foden and Marmoush play together?”

It’ll be interesting to see how Pep sorts it.

His movement is good but it's pointless when nobody looks for it. He'll stop doing it soon just as haaland did unless we start fucking using it.

I'm not quite sure how he scored so many in Germany though as the lad is not displaying natural goalscoring instincts. Seems to prefer to go and drift out wide and join the other 4 players on the wing within 10 yards of each other over getting himself into the box.

He’s a 10. He plays behind a 9.

Hence his best game was against Newcastle, where he linked up with Haaland superbly.
He actually played as an inverted LW im that game and in his best games.

This means he can play with a 10 (Foden) as well.

Pep is determined to never give him this role again for some reason, likely something about ita pointless if there is no space behind.

Doesnt seem to stop teams like PSG and Barca (who have 65%+ possession) from doing this with one of their wingers.

He is terrific striker of the ball, great on the counter and set-piece specialis. He played effectively wit Etike as a tandem for Frankfurt. t. Pep will turn him into the new Grealish soon.

I think this guy is a top player and was excited when we got him. I just struggle to see where he fits in? Does he play on the left or does he play as the 10 and we don’t go for one in the summer? He just doesn’t create enough to be a 10. He’s too good to just be Haalands back up.

The confusing bit is I don’t think he is Haalands back up. He didn’t play up top against Liverpool or Madrid away.

System needs to change but Marmoush is a top player.

The context doesn't help him at all, he's shown very interesting things when he played, specially as a starter, he's definitely not part of the problem.
