We give every team so much time to get back in position it makes it difficult for the wingers
I get frustrated with both wingers however due to our slow build up they are always double marked….contrast that with the opposing widemen.

Doesn’t really help when they play on their opposite side….meaning on the rare occasions they get in position to cross…it is always delayed.

Haaland doesn’t make the runs he did previously…..probably because he doesn’t expect the cross/pass to come.

next season we have two main players to come back from long term injury and a possible 2/3 incoming in the window but those 2/3 have to be top quality and im talking of 100 million plus each so a summer spend of over 300 million, we'l be back on the basis of that, anything else like signing unproven 'top flight' potential will just clog up the squad and we will have another season like we have had,Pep can turn it around he's done it before.

The team he picked was way too cautious, with little to no goal threat apart from Haaland. We should have started with Marmoush and given them more to worry about.

Nico was going to get sent off. Already on a yellow and had given another foul away just before the sub. He was never going to make the full 90 minutes. I understood that one the most out of all of them, although it did us no favours.
Worth the risk to keep him on in my opinion. Seriously weakened us in midfield and previous games are clear proof Kovacic struggles in the holding role

Strangely flat performance again. On at least a few occasions today, our players sprinted for a 50/50, and then slowed up at the last second to allow the opponent to win the ball, seemingly fearful of getting into a tackle (Nunes, Marmoush, Gvardiol, Foden from memory). Wanting to win the ball more than your opponent has to be one of the most basic elements of football and it’s strange to see us no longer wanting it more than them.

How about his natural position of centre back?

I know we'd lose out on his attacking threat at left back, Personally I'd love to see him at centre back alongside Khusanov.

Ruben Dias has been so far off his own standards for a long time now.

Having said that, Would goes left back if Josko is centre back :)

A rest won't make him a better defender. He's been making defensive howlers from day one.

We were fine until the 1st subs (bar any goal

just had 10 days off
In the top 5 for minutes played across all PL players.

Rodri and who else ?

If you could stick David Silva in this side Haaland would be flying.
He’d play to Haaland’s strengths not his weaknesses.
Through balls for him to run onto is where he thrives, not stood static in a packed penalty area waiting for a quality cross that hardly ever comes.
Ah what we once was : (
Agree we are missing that vision, but even with that vision it’s hard to get the space for Haaland to run onto. Part of the issue, and one we couldn’t deal with today and against Liverpool, is breaking down a deep defensive block filled with decent, well drilled defenders (Alexander-Arnold excepted). And we rarely got space on the D to shoot.

We couldn’t draw them out, there was little overlap from our full backs and the final balls were poor - Forest expected that. Rather than flipping savio and doku from side to side I would’ve liked to see Grealish and de Bruyne working together on the left, if only to give them something else to think about - they were set up to play our starting XI today. But sometimes you just have to say fair enough, their defence was solid today and they set up to avoid defeat.

Completely toothless. Yes we were in control of the game for 80 minutes but Forest were happy with that, that was their gameplan and knew they could be a threat on the break as proved, what was our game plan? We could still be playing now and we'd be lucky if we had an extra shot at goal nevermind actually scored.

Plan seemed to just be give it doku, forests response to that was simply double and sometimes triple mark him and our threat became non-existent.

I wonder what we did in the extra training sessions this week. My bet is we spent it just doing rondo's because that's pretty much all we're doing in games. Nobody but kdb has a first thought that resembles looking for an opportunity for us to score. The priority is always keep it. I've no issue with the lineup or the subs today, but once again it's pep and his poor tactics that have cost us.

Forest fans were awful for 80 minutes. And what was that banner display all about before kick off? Looked like the year 3 class of the local school had hastily put that together within an hour.
