Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I get slagged of when I criticise the team. Well although we lost I was far more comfortable with what I saw today. The defence is definatly taking shape. We looked very tight and in control at the back. We need now to concentrate on creating more proper chances. I felt if we got the first goal today we would have won which I couldn't say in previous games. As always Haaland will only score if he gets the support. Savvy and Doku run themselves into the ground but there is little final product. Foden is hot and cold. He will never be a KDB. Again Khusonov is the business.I think with 30 pts to play for we will finish above Forest. They were nothing special. 1 chance 1 goal.
They also hit the post when our defence went missing.

It is tighter at the back that's true. But I wish Nico had stayed on till the end.

Ok had my tea and a drink and calmed down a little
Boy, this season has been long and painful but we are talking about a fight for top 4th place or Champions League spot, The truth is it could be a lot worse and a hell of a hole to dig ourselves out from.

Yes this season was coming, Yes Rodri injury was coming, Yes players having burnout, Yes We didn't want it to end like this, BUT Manchester City and our fans are the best in the world, All we ask is to be playing a game of football and we will follow come the good or bad times.

YARN | You know, this ain't so bad, Fred. | The Flintstones ...'t so bad, Fred. | The Flintstones ...
If the players are tired this season why would next season be any different?

Genuine question.

Kush is the future of this club.
And I hope we get more in like him.
But mate it's not 70/80%..
More like 30/ 40...
Yeah, I think I might of been slightly benevolent to them. I think we won't recognise next seasons team because there's going to be quite a few goodbyes.

We haven't really bottled anything have we?
Until all the injuries hit us we were top.of the league. The Rodri injury with no obvious replacement ripped the heart out of the side. We then lost almost all our defensive players. Then the tremendous efforts of the last four seasons caught up with an ageing team. It's been a perfect storm which has cost us dearly.
I’d respectfully disagree. The way we collapsed and melted down mentally in the face of the slightest adversity in the derby, Feyenoord, PSG, Madrid, Arsenal away etc were failures of mentality and desire as much as anything else. All were bottle jobs
Did anyone genuinely expect anything other than a defeat today once we went behind?

I understand your point but all the factors I mentioned contributed to those collapses.

Too many players performing at 70/80 % and unfortunately it's the same old fucking players. Whilst I think we'll still get top 4(5) the drop off from last season is remarkable. Big game players needed for next season. Huge plus is Khusinov, what a fucking player!
He is the only one who looks like he gives a fuck mate. Something isn't right within this squad

Anybody thinking that side out there can challenge for the title next season needs to reassess things. Players we have brought in, aside from Khusa, look decidedly average. One good performance then 4 weeks of mediocrity....Savinho Doku Marmoush....FFS City, get some proven world class players in.
The subs today made things worse, Kova was pish...his stupid 1st time pass when we were breaking cost us that goal and of course, Ederson has to make another whopping great fuck up.
Very disappointing 2nd half that from us, hardly any intent
The only thing worse than the performance of the team this season, is our performance in about 4 consecutive transfer windows.

Imagine him playing along side a quality right back, he’ll get better yet.

And we call the Tarquins….

Most called it as soon as the substitutions were made.
Pep could legislate for Gvardiol not shutting down the danger as quickly as possible or Eddy being beaten on his near post. Again he can't do their jobs for them in that regard. Nothing to do with his choice of subs earlier on.

I liked that post purely on your respectfulness:) If only a few others could take heed.

Not if Nunes is the right back it’s not
Can't disagree, rabbit in headlights for 60 minutes again today.
Looks completely out of his depth, scared, shitless all the time.

How the fuck he starts and Grealish is benched is a complete and utter fucking mystery.

Grealish could easily do what he is meant to do.

He just needs to go, absolute terrible signing for us.

Or you could say that the ball should never have reached the point where Ederson even had the chance to be beaten at his near post?

There are so many arguments on here, game after game, about what's gone on inside our area, when half the time the ball should have been attacked long before, 20 yards or more up the field.

I don't routinely see opposition defenders simply ushering our guys into their area.

Not sure why it's regarded as blasphemy on here to criticise the coaching, but for Christ's sake, there's a limit - how can anybody moan at people having a go at us for doing the same thing and expecting different results?
But again that is probably not Pep's overal instructions and he does leave it to the indvidual. He does coach positioning.
