Gareth Taylor sacked

Thought it'd be the end of the season but doesn't surprise me one bit. No secret I know some former players and I've not heard many good words said.

Also doesn't surprise me that we've gone 'in house' again, albeit temporarily (but I can see this being made permanent). On the plus side, Cushing was known for getting the best out of the team by being a support to they players and building good rapport and connections as opposed to Taylor who was a bit of a dictator and wouldn't bother even speaking to anyone outside of his planned starting 11.

Expecting to see a pretty immediate lift in mood & spirits.

Oh and I'd be massively surprised to see Chloe Kelly play for us again. Out of contract and not much desire from either party for that to change.

End of March would have done. But unfair on someone to come in and face this next run of fixtures. Can't say I am sorry he is leaving but as you say the timing is odd
Didn't think of that.

"Welcome back Nick".

"Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting started. So who are our next few games against"?

"Errr...."

Well probably lasted longer than he should have, seemed to be clueless at times in games with his reaction to making subs, wouldn’t be surprised there is huge upturn in performances from the ladies team,I’d also say that maybe he wasn’t that well liked by the players..

As an aide why on earth would we want Chloe Kelly back? She's been shite for 18 months, kicked up a stink trying to to force a move to Utd and pissed on every bridge with the club as she departed. Personally Id rather play with 10 than see her in a City shirt ever again.

It does seem odd timing but maybe the board think the only way to get a result in the league cup final and the champions league is to part ways. I’m delighted. The quality of football has really gone downhill this season and the girls deserve better. We’ve got a squad that can push for the title, not one that’s failing to quality for champions league as things stand.
I think it's the CL that is causing most concern. We would need a Barcelona=esque Ist leg performance to outdo CFC women. We have the players, and with a bit of luck, bounce of the ball and rub of the green . . . . . . . . .!

In the words of the man himself.....

"Gooood"

I actually applaud the timing tbh & hopefully it can act as a pickmeup for the remainder of the season with the reigns now coming off.

The football has been absolutely turgid for sometime now & this obsession with constantly recycling the ball clearly not working.

I'd also add his record of falling out with players has probably done him no favours either.

What makes you think it’ll be made permanent? Just a hunch? I think it’s time we go out and get a real statement manager like Chelsea did with Bompastor

I’m not completely surprised, though I thought it would be at the end of the season.

Considering the quality of the players in the squad, the results this season really haven’t been good enough, and it’s time for a change.
