Having just listened to it, he’s given the reason it’s a big fuck off white elephant. There has to be a plan for the area & apart from a football stadium it’s nothing else.

Napoleon called us a fucking nation of shopkeepers, we then had an industrial revolution & gone back to building shopping centres, offices & apartments.

What he says is United can afford the new stadium themselves but NOT the whole regeneration project of South Manchester. I have just watched it all.

He says that but has no intention of building the stadium for himself when it fits in with the government’s growth strategy. It’s bullshit, he’s doing a billionaires PR stunt of how can we help out the nation…….

Jim doesn't need to regenerate the whole area. That's already going ahead via Trafford Council's proposals. Jim needs to find the money to buy the freight terminal land, which he and the Glazers aren't going to do. He is getting the Government and tax payer to do that under the guise of regenerating the wider area around the new stadium.

It's like Sheikh Mansour asking the government and the tax payer to buy a large parcel of land in another part of East Manchester to build a brand new stadium on, under the guise of regenerating that part of East Manchester.

Jim and the Glazers are multi-billionaires. They can afford to buy the freight terminal hand themselves. They don't need to worry about the surrounding area beyond the freight terminal land. Trafford Wharfside has been discussed for years and is still no further along, bar a vision.

Let's see what the new stadium and plans are for the wider area when they are revealed today.

He is a money grubbing opportunist, supported by Burnham, a political lightweight opportunist, who sees this as the opportunity of self promotion to a national level.

Burnham hasn't got a pot to piss in, and jimrat won't let anyone piss in his pot !!

We must ensure that not a cent of tax payers money is spent on land acquisition, detoxing, stadium development and infrastructure or anything else that is of direct commercial benefit to the rags.

Ah yes, South Manchester, it's years behind the newly regenerated Newton Heath in the North Manchester regeneration that definitely happened
