Each way? So what odds did he get? Isn't it a quarter of the odds? Excuse what may seem obvious questions; I don't remember ever putting a bet on in my life. The lottery is the extent of my gambling.

Each way means you back it for a win and a place. Fiver ew at 50/1 paid £332.50.Each way? So what odds did he get? Isn't it a quarter of the odds? Excuse what may seem obvious questions; I don't remember ever putting a bet on in my life. The lottery is the extent of my gambling.
Yeah; I know what each way means, thanks. I was just wondering what actual odds he got for an e/w bet; I thought you only got a fraction of the odds that you'd get for a simple win bet. Each way means you back it for a win and a place. Fiver ew at 50/1 paid £332.50.
you get the 50-1 for one fiver and a quarter of the odds for the other fiver so 12.5-1Yeah; I know what each way means, thanks. I was just wondering what actual odds he got for an e/w bet; I thought you only got a fraction of the odds that you'd get for a simple win bet.

Depends on a few things like race type, amount of horses in the races its generally 1/5th odds for a place but that particular race was 1/4 so the win paid 255 and place paid 67.5.Yeah; I know what each way means, thanks. I always feel that you need 8/1 for ew to be worth it.Half the stake is on the win at full price and half on the place at 1/4 or 1/5 the odds (depends on # of runners and bookmakers terms) if it wins you get paid out for both. If it only places you really get 1/10 or 1/8 of the odds as you lose your win stake.
