Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Pep is 54 years old now, and it seems he is tired & out of energy & interest.

Ferguson was 57 years old when he won the CL in 99, was full of energy and continued his managerial journey for another 13 years until he reached 70.

Anceloti is now 65, and he wants to continue forever

Hansi flick is 60 and he is just starting his era with Barcelona

I feel Pep renew because of Khaldoon, not because he likes to continue doing what he love.

Every forum has a Tevez City!

Oh look the usually morning negative post go generate traffic!

Oh look it worked this morning!

Pep will now rebuild this team into a young, hungry talented group that will and can go onto winning more.

His contract runs till 2027, will he stay longer depends on his personal health and if he will still have that desire to continue.

Then we look for a succesor. At the time of his current contract ending, Nagelsman will have one year left on his with the German national team - a highly talented manager and held in high regard. So he could be the future.

There is obviously the situation where a new name comes along.

But in the meantime, Pep will rebuild

I hope Pep saw that PSG vs Liverpool and realized PSG look way more of a Pep team than current City.

The way they completely strangled control away from Liverpool over two legs and their midfield dominate should be ringing alarm bells that the days of the Gundo, KDB, Kova, Bernardo, Stones, Akanji and Foden midfields are OVER.

We need FOUR new midfielders in to replace the older players and we need to get them right to compete.

Pep doesn't need to watch PSG Liverpool to know what we need. Plus we don't need 4 new midfielders,2 will suffice.

We need this, we need that!
If anyone has not noticed, we are in the middle of that change.
I am so looking forward to watching the process, witnessing the player development, and looking at the difference a new DOF may make.
We have won more than I ever expected, so the next phase, for me, is just as enjoyable.

PS. Anyone witnessing the development of the academy will know that we may not always need EXACTLY what we think we need.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

So what will our midfield be? Rodri/ Nico and who??

We need to replace..
1. KDB
2. Gundo
3. Bernardo
4. Sabotage-ovic also known as Kovavic
5. Stones/ Akanji

Good luck doing that with just 2.

Well technically if Nico O'Reilly can be trusted.. then just 3 but I'm not relying on that.

How will we ever know?

Khusanov straight into the team and shows he is capable of staying there. Nico has never let us down in the few times he has been given a chance and still he is benched in favour of players who's form is pretty poor.

Seriously we might need a banner or 2 at the Etihad to convince Pep of that!

We play 4-2-3-1. The “2” is Rodri and Nico, with one other player required, then cover from one of the old guard and minutes for younger players coming through

The central of the “3” we need a replacement for De Bruyne, given we have Foden, Marmoush, Savio, Doku, Bobb and potentially Echeverri competing for those spots

You do understand to bring 4 in we need to lose 8 from the squad, and we'll need a full back and maybe a keeper so that's 10 out ,meanwhile in the real world.
I expect our midfield 3 to be 3 from Rodri. Nico, Foden,Echeverri probably at least 1 maybe 2 of KDB Silva, Kovacic, as squad players plus the 2 I expect we'll bring in.
If those 6 or 7 aren't enough for you then that's tough shit and your problem.
By the way this your keyboard jammed a bit at the start of your post.

Foden in midfield?
Kovacic in midfield?

Are you not entertained by the current season?? You want an encore..???

FFS can you even remember the last 3 assists from Foden? Is he even close to the creator we got with David Silva/ KDB or even Gundo?

The first step to fixing a problem is realizing you have a problem. Foden.. as much as I wish he was.. he's not a creative 8. And we need creative 8's or 10's.

Foden is likely to become a winger/ secondary forward.

Did you not see Foden last season ? We can't sell all the players, If Kovacic or Silva stay as squad players I'm fine with it, because I understand how the real world works. It isn't fantasy football. It's highly likely ou midfield will mainly be picked from Rodri, Nico, Foden, Echeverri , plus 2. No idea where these other 2 you want are going to play or when.

I'm just coming to terms with why I think he's just not a midfielder. He just doesn't create for others and just has a go at goal himself.. sometimes from 30+ yards.

Yes we've won with him before but that seems more of an isolated case rather than everyday occurrence like KDB creativity.

And even if you look at his assist totals from his POTY season last year.. there are 20+ players in the PL who had more assists than he did.

why are you sure that Rodri and Nico will work out well? Or this is Peps plan? Nico needs to prove himself a lot before that.ID take someone like Camavinga next to rodri and a great playmaker like Wirtz etc for the 3-rd midfield position

I was saying that the set of players for the “2” was Rodri and Nico, plus one newcomer augmented by kids/veterans

I would also love a Camavinga/Wirtz combo. We would be right back at it with those midfield options

19 points from the last 10 games, including 5 games against the other top 6, suggests that he's changed plenty and found solutions.

I swear this thread attracts BM's greatest lunatics.
We've only dropped 11 points in the last 10 games?
I thought it was way worse than that.
