Brighton and Hove Albion PL (H) | Post Match Thread

Not sure what is going on. We have gone from seeing the most exciting football I have ever seen ever under Pep to some of the most slow labourious football I have ever watched. One I would have paid a £100 a game to see and the other I wonder whether I will renew my season ticket. The worrying thing is we keep playing the same way in the hope it will come good when we have been sussed and don't even have the players to play that way antway. I would rather play exciting risky football or play young players than watch this. I can't understand why we just keep rinse and repeat when it's clear it's not working. Love Pep and love city but can't love the football we are playing that isn't working and the fact we are not changing anything. Let's try something different that we can get behind whether it's different tactics or playing some of the younger players.

I'm literally just in the door back from the game, On the go with my daughter since 3am travelling for the game like we do most weeks...

I've been feeling out of touch with the club for quite a while now attending games, Today hit home, I can't explain it, For the first time in my life I felt like "this isn't the club I've loved...Genuinely couldn't have gave a fuck about the score, I put on a brave face for my daughters sake so she could enjoy the game.

I was sat with a bunch of fucking bellends constantly looking around to see were there seat was, Taking selfies, They even just sat down when the penalty was been taken...It's dead, The club is fucking dead, The soul is gone.

As for the game, Absolute bobbins...Truth be told Ortega, Rico, Dias for months) Gundogan, Doku, Savinho in particular wouldn't get a kick of a ball with the league leaders right now.

To make matters worse, The majority of players just fucked off down the tunnel after the whistle and couldn't be arsed clapping the fans at the end.

It's a complete mess, Pep has alot to answer for too. Anyway, I'm going to get some sleep, Enjoy the night mooners

Amazing that a ball across the face of the box can create so much carnage yet we insist on playing inverted wingers so that never happens it’s absolute shite, why take Marmoush off who was out best player for a guy who may find him with a decent pass!
Balls across the box? We just hit the legs of the first defender.

I'd like to see our wingers given the option of a forward making a run to the front post, one to the back post and an AM running into the middle. All we ever see is Haaland static at the back and yesterday Marmoush fighting with him for the same space.

No it’s a comment from someone who is watching the games from a non biased opinion . Pep has done wonders for this club and will go down as a legend and greatest manager and we will look back when’s he’s gone and say he was great but the present is here and atm he is getting it wrong week in week out but it’s like everyone is scared to call him out .
Not really. I think he might be gone by next season and have often called him out particularly in Europe. This was a joke regarding a username. Pep is poor presently and is close to the sort of territory it's difficult to turn things round. I hope he can but he looks like a man bereft of ideas currently.

To be fair, he wasn’t even good enough to play for River Plate for a good number of games in his last six months with them.
They were probably avoiding overplaying him at his age. We appear to be avoiding playing him at all. I wonder why he is here.

SWALES BACK IN!!!!!
I just had a nightmare . . . .

It's so strange i don't get it.

It was like playing Grealish in midfield against Forest, seeing it work, then never doing that again!
Great point about Grealish. He was so wasted on the wing where he never beat a player but cut inside. Almost as if he was crying out to play in midfield. I don't know why Pep can't see it.

Brighton Manager and players have zero pressure ! The players know they can move to a better team if they perform so it's a piece of piss for that club! They'd be happy to stay in the league every year and sell players that club! Put any of there players in our team they are expected to win expected to perform every single game and if not they'll be criticised from fans from the media!

Like I say if your a good player at Brighton under no pressure from fans the owner it be a job for them to play in the team!

Pep can see the physical and mental state Grealish is in off the field and that’s why he is not picking him. You must be aware that Grealish has got problems.

Bernardo was weird, looked pissed off to be taken off.
Or was he pissed off he had to go on when he didn't want to and then had to go off?

Grealish is a fucking mystery.

Plenty of our players in the past have done stuff, but they weren't hung out to dry.

It's not as if we are playing well without him.
I think that issue is a big one and is hindering us more than many realise.

Our record signing never being put on pitch is a fukin problem!

Where the hell do we start with this season?
I think first of all we have to accept that for a long period of time we had the best manager and perfect selection of young players at the very top of their game.
Players who rarely made mistakes or mis placed passes and had any team we faced
Beaten in the tunnel before we kicked a ball.
Those same players are now either injured, older, or gone.
Is it possible that we will never see such dominance again ?
It’s amazing how bad individual performances can spread through to other usually reliable players and it was evident
All over the pitch yesterday and previous games.
Defenders happy to kick the ball out rather than risk a pass, I saw nico weighing up a through ball towards sav who was on the edge of the box early on from midfield
Which he almost pulled off but went to a Brighton player, he never tried again after that. We saw our player of the year come on and fail to make a five yard pass and kick the ball into touch.
Rico asking for the ball when touch tight with a Brighton player, our keeper watching the ball go in of the post unaware of his own positioning. It’s literally everywhere on the pitch and finally a manager screaming and going apeshit on the touchline with some players giving him some back.
We’ve been so lucky to have a squad where everything we touched turn to gold but that we may never see again at that level.
And finally what the actual fuck do pgmol see in hooper to call him a professional referee? Wouldn’t be out of place in a under 12s match in the Salford Sunday league.

The problems of late October into November where we had injuries 11 senior players available to just about pad out the starting line up and the youth team filling out the bench whilst the games came thick and fast playing weekend and midweek aren’t there now to be used as an excuse. What are they doing in training to stop the rot?

Too many easy goals given away and we don’t work hard enough when we have to ball to stop it. The sitter the Brighton player missed in the second half, he ran from inside his own half with no one picking him up. every attack we concede from our defenders get dragged deep into their own box following the ball and the first players in the break and no one spots the runs of the ones arriving later at the edge of the box.

The level of the squad has dropped alarmingly, we sign players who have potential rather than ones that are ready to go to in this league. Doku and Savinio look unplayable turning their markers inside and out but can’t provide a killer pass.

As a club this form needs to be stopped going into next season, trouble is we have this club World Cup where it’s a disrupted pre season and our rivals get the summer off.
