Need to take some players out of the team.

Ederson; Khusanov Dias Gvardiol O’Reilly; Nico Kovacic; Marmoush Foden Mcatee; Haaland
Agree with 9 of those, but I do think Foden and McAtee have tended to be underwhelming this season, so I’d be happy to see other choices there.

Pep's proved his insanity more than enough this season. Hopefully we get enough slices of luck to progress, despite whatever set-up he chooses; I gave up trying to second-guess him long ago. Otherwise, never mind - there's always next season.

Never thought I would say this but I totally agree with you're post what has happened to these players
It's unbelievable as kammy would say
Well I don't want to jinx it but - I'm sure you know that Oscar Bobb got through 60 minutes of game time with the EDS. I think if he's emerged unscathed in that match he might be good for 30 min or so against Bournemouth. So it could be worth 60 minutes or so of KDB or Bernardo if Bobb can come on in replacement. He's not with Norway on the break so he's got some more time before. I'd like to see him back on the side.

Having thought about this for some time now, I have concluded that the form of KDB is not due entirely to injury and aging. Clearly there are other reasons for his fall off a cliff edge. The story of this season, if it is ever told in its entirety will be far more interesting than those fly on the wall documentaries we were fed in the good times.

I would like to see Haaland and Marmoush in a more traditional City set-up. Marmoush is still not integrated into the City team but his quality is obvious. I think we need an extra midfielder to bring the forwards into the game and to sustain attacks.

--------------Ederson
Rico---Khusanov--Dias---Gvardiol
------Gonzalez---Kovacic
--------------Foden
--Mamoush--Haaland--Doku

I'm not sure why you would include Foden. As this is our last chance of winning anything I would try something different. Play both Grealish and Nunes in their natural positions .. mid-field . and see what happens. Cannot be any worse than what has been served up all season

Who do we reckon gets injured on international duty before this? I'm going with Dias and Doku.

A must win game because we must win the FA Cup. Along with finishing top 4, this season won't look that bad when we look back to it in the future.
.....only if we win it which I won't bet on.

Most of the team are 'lost', the coach is 'lost', and the club has 'lost' the goodwill of the the fans.

If we 'lose' in the cup, does that qualify as another Quadruple ??

In the (very) old days - before double pivots, before Christmas tree formation, even before wing-backs were a thing - any team with a couple of strikers like Erling and Moushy, plus a less-than-mobile midfield, would play to their strengths and protect their weaknesses with a basic 4-4-2.

Midfielders have far less ground to cover and the strikers have a chance to form a lethal partnership.

The makeup of our squad - or at least the restricted group that Pep limits himself to using - would really lend itself to this most basic formation, if only just to the end of the season as we try to scrape into a UCL spot.

I realise that this is probably not sophisticated enough to satisfy modern-day coaches, but at least everybody would know where they are supposed to play, which is not necessarily the feeling I get watching our lot at the moment.

Not very aesthetically pleasing, but I don't care if it brings the results we need.
