Actually, quite seriously, he did one thing, and one thing only against Brighton, but only he on the pitch could have done it. That low curved ball in was just like old times. If Gundo hadn't got his back on it by accident and deflected it, that was a certain goal. There's no way a defence can deal with that. There were three blue shirts lining up to finish.
He can't play full matches any more. Perhaps he can't even play full halves. But there'll always be a temptation to have him on the pitch for fifteen minutes or so for moments like that. I'll miss it.

this worries me.

I guess most of their players will not be off for international duty which means quite a long and good preparation for them for this one FA cup game. it will allow them extra fitness to press us which our players will hate so much.

Iraola will watch the Forest and Brighton games to find the patterns to hurt us same as the game we lost at their stadium in the PL already few months back.

I would hope Pep can now spend 2 weeks with Lillo to work at least in theory on the tactics, but I guess he will be off to Spain, Grealish off to the pubs to watch England games lol.

right now its hard to see what would instantly change tactically that allows us to win this game. Iraola's tactics is really a bad fit for us now.

we had mighty great draw Salford, Leyton, Plymouth, that ends now in the FA cup. hopefully it wont end our whole run in the cup but unless Pep will outsmart Iraola it will.

Very difficult to evaluate this team at present (I mean us, although it's pretty difficult to evaluate Bournemouth too, in fact — their recent record in the league has been anything but impressive).
Brighton could have beaten us the other day. Some would say they should have. But we could have beaten them. Nico has a clear header, unmarked from about five yards out. Ok, it hit the post, but it really wouldn't have been difficult to score from that range, and a good cross, too. There were others. Kev's low ball in could have won the game for us, if not for a very unlucky deflection off Gundo's back that he knew absolutely nothing about.
I'm not saying we're great. We could go out. But we should be really going for this. Liverpool out, Arsenal out, United out, Chelsea out. And one of Brighton or Forest to go out. It is Wembley, people. There's a whole generation of City supporters — more than one — who would have killed for an appearance at Wembley, and a trophy. And the FA Cup still counts. Let's not get blasé, ever. That's raggish (or it once was…). We've seen the abyss (otherwise known as York Away).
I don't see that it's either the Cup or top four/five. We should be going for both.
