The "which famous person died today" thread

We've lost a few stars over the last two or three weeks? I think he did a retirement tour last year, or was due to finish this year? Running Away was his go to tune in my opinion but his longevity was a testament to his talent. Reworked Sweet Tears with Nuyorican Soul in late 90s and it was the highlight of the album for me. I was only playing Description of a fool - Tribe Called Quest the other day. Roy's sample still sounded cool even slowed down.
Sad day but he'll live on for years I suspect. RIP sir.
It seems never ending at times, doesn't it!

As long as we keep diggin' in our crates ...they'll always remain great :-)

Initially diagnosed with lymphoma in 2019, but for the last six months he was also struggling with pneumonia & passed away this morning aged 65

Very sad. I remember back in 2019 myself and a few mates had treated ourselves to a bit of hospitality at the British Grand Prix. During the day they had interviews on stage with various people and he was one of them. He said then that Lewis Hamilton was going to drive for Ferrari. This was in the middle of the Mercedes untouchable period and everyone pretty much laughed it off / at him. Thought about that a lot in the last year or so. RIP

seriously I think this is such a great tribute - the way loads of young lads will have gone racing and will know of Eddie and his work
