PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Mooney is sound. What’s your problem with him? Is it just he works for the BBC?

Tbf, I was summarising names, it wasn't me who said Mooney was up to no good but i think he'll have bent over at some point for furtherance of opportunities, as do most in that field. I like his podcasts too

As for BBC, well it's got progressively more anti city since they moved to Salford hasn't it..?

Even the Pope's had enough and gone home.

Imagine the fans of the supposed big clubs being treated like this and kept under this cloud for 2+ years.
Totally unacceptable.

Totally agree.

Including the CAS hearing it must be 4-5 years. If this was the beloved red teams there would be a sympathetic media, MPs making statements etc

We’ve just had the odd article from Martin Samuel. No one else sticking up for us.

It is unacceptable and I still think the club should have handled the communication better. But too late now.

Always remember Noamh Chomsky’s words to Andrew Marr when the latter tried to pull the ‘nobody tells me what to write’ defence espoused by Conn, Delaney etc

“I’m not saying you’re self-censoring. I’m sure you believe everything you say. But what I’m saying is if you believed something different you wouldn’t be sitting where you’re sitting.”

It was a good line by Chomsky.

But when you think Marr and Maitlis were sitting in the same seat as Andrew Neil and Nick Robinson, it doesn't really make much sense.

Liverpool fans are known to the rest of football as being like a cult because they are so notoriously blinkered about their club that they are incapable of balanced rhetoric. It seems that if a city fan, like Mooney or Stefan, try to have reasoned debate about the charges they are then looked at as lesser fans screwing the club over. No one has seen the evidence so if we are all truly honest no one should be able to be 100%certain either party will win. All we can do is wait and see what ultimately happens and hope City prove their innocence.

The thing with the charges is that people are desperate for crumbs to cling onto and are treating it as we would a transfer rumour hoping an agent might leak a bit of info to a journalist. Realistically it is a serious situation where an independent panel are trying to determine whether the premier league can prove if City did what they claim. The panel shouldn’t leak anything to anyone so all there is to go on is the respective parties confidence and that is entirely guess work.

Obviously people making things up and claiming stuff like their mate works at City and he told me to get excited doesn’t help.

DANGER: I'm getting concerned about the numebr of pages and posts on this thread...
There's a real danger that when the verdict (our World Cup) comes around, the best posters on here will be simply burned out from too much activity during the build up, and unable to reach appropriate levels of glee or rage.. depending on the result. Our best contributors need to be wrapped in cotton wool for a few weeks.
