FC United slam “New Trafford” project!

The Rebels criticise public money being used to fund the stadium.
A spokesperson for the club, Timmy Pallet, said it was disgraceful that the public are expected to fund any aspect of this scheme, adding that if FC United, with 3000 members can build their own ground self financed, then Big Red can do the same with over 1 billion fans world wide.
“it’s £2 for each fan world wide isn’t it” added finance officer Don Ation, further adding “it’s shameless that the club are seemingly going to the Mayor of Manchester and the government and shaking buckets at them. It’s so desperate.
That’s not the FC Way and we urge fans unhappy about this to give us a try. We are 100% fan owned and fan led which is how all clubs should be, standing on their own two feet financially and having a sustainable model to run a club.”
Brilliant.

Oops
Someone needs a bit of Greater Manchester geography!
Ashton Athletic is in Ashton in Makerfield not Ashton under Lyne

Ashton Athletic v Droylsden – 15:00 (UK)

Another side close to the Etihad, Ashton Athletic are safe in mid-table but they will be hoping to scupper Droylsden’s promotion bid in this local derby.

FC United of Manchester and The 1958, a Manchester United fan group, are staging a joint action on Saturday against 20 years of Glazer ownership of Manchester United. The protest, called United United Day, marks the first formal attempt by FC United and a Manchester United supporter group to link forces since the non-league club’s foundation in 2005, which caused some division between fans.

This seems an odd alliance ?
Why would anyone with MUFC interests, at heart, want to "protest" along with the Splitters ?
If Sir Scruffy Jim bought out the Glazers, where would this put the Splitters ?
Would they close down FCUM, owing Manchester City Council (plus others, no doubt) £1 million, just walking away ?
Seems to me, just an another dubious publicity stunt trying to gain "new football friends" ?

My enemies enemy is my friend

Agree in theory.
I wouldn't trust the Splitters over anything, as they cannot deal with the truth, only empty promises and blatant lies. They are also always desperate for any publicity.
But, why the 1958 Group would get involved with the hypocritical, over-hyped FCUM puzzles me ?
