Looked reasonably sharp when he came on tonight. Granted it was only Latvia, but encouraging signs nonetheless. Hopefully he can put whatever problems he is facing behind him, and return to last season’s form soon.
Agreed Ric, he did more in the first 5 minutes of his coming on the pitch than his 60 minutes the other day. His body language looked better too and yes, encouraging signs for the rest of the season, hopefully.

Obviously Foden is a massive talent - but WTF is going on with him this season? If Foden doesn't turn it around next season, sell him - a win-win situation.

Deffo a bit of a media pile-on on Foden going on. Sure, he’s been mediocre at best this season. It’s forgivable after a stellar season/s previously. However, if this malaise continues then the club have a huge decision to make. Let’s hope he comes back firing. I genuinely feel he just needs a goal to get things going again.
The media coverage is sickening but not a surprise. Phil has been brilliant for us since he was 17. He has one dodgy season because of fatigue, injuries, and personal health issues and the pile-on starts including from a section of his own fans. Jealousy and bitterness seems to be a British disease but some of our fans should know better.

Something stood out watching Phil in England's team last night. He was so comfortable and commanding playing in a deep central role. Sending accurate passes and wary of the movement and space around our forward players. After playing for a long time in tight areas of the pitch, in this role he will relish the freedom and his speed of thought means he can spray killer passes around as if he is KDB. When the sideways/backwards passer Henderson came on, Phil had to move into the crowded areas and was less imoressive.
I am suggesting that Mr. Tuchel has unearthed a special talent as a game-changing deep lying midfielder.

Tuchel apparently thinks Henderson and Curtis Jones should play ahead of Foden so I wouldn’t hold your breath on Tuchel being a success

You don't pick a professional sports team on sentiment. Sentiment is for fans.

Repeatedly picking a player who is clearly off form (for whatever reason) does no more than expose them to criticism.

The simple fact is that Phil has looked disinterested in games and has been one of our least effective players this season, but Pep continues to select him ahead of Grealish, Nunes, McAtee etc.

As I've said, the player is still in there but personally, I believe that he needs a change of either club, coach, or both, to get back on track.
I assume you don’t attend games. Grealish, Nunez and Mcatee better than Foden, even this season ? You are on the wind up.
