PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I, like many others, assumed we would hear the outcome during the International break. Still three days to go, but unless it is announced tomorrow or Thursday this will have an unsettling impact on the Premier League, whatever the outcome. My 50p is on tomorrow, pm

Either way, there should be some newsflow around the PL shareholder meeting. Including rumour about Masters' position as CEO.

Whether you back City or not, regulation of the PL club finances has become farcical and deeply distrusted by fans, and then add the APT dispute on top of that where MCFC have been completely vindicated in respect of the legality of the APT arrangements.

If it wasn't for the stance of many journalists towards MCFC's ownership, the Premier League governance would be being vilified at the moment by the media.

The media are going to be asking questions of the PL and possibly Pep soon. Pep broached the March timeline so it would be very reasonable for the press to ask for an update although whether they will get an answer I doubt.

I just don't get how there can be zero leaks, but some guy on here knows it's tomorrow haha. Please don't get your hopes up people, it ain't happening.

Maybe when we don't find out tomorrow, he'll say there was a delay or a decision was made but we (the public) won't find out until next week or some shit. Either way, it's all tosh.

Given what Ric said, he might well have gambled his account on this so I don't imagine he'll be saying anything tbh

To 'go for a Burton' means to come a cropper, not go for a drink.

'Uncle Bill has gone for a Burton' would indicate that uncle Bill has met his sad demise, it wouldn't indicate that uncle Bill has gone for a pint.

Here to help, as always.
Gone for a Burton does mean gone for a beer (due to BoT brewing heritage) - it was subsequently used by the RAF in WW2 to describe some of those missing in action

Maybe I'm wrong but in the the grand scheme of things neither the Premier League or City have a say in when it comes out so a PL shareholders meeting means nothing.

Granted, it's clearly not tomorrow anyway
That's not correct - the panel are appointed by the PL (in concert with City) - they report back their 'findings' / 'judgement' to the PL and City - out of courtesy the parties then agree to what will then be reported, by way of press release from both parties. This was City's frustration with the APT 'judgement' - as the PL delayed the release unreasonably and City threatened to unilaterally publish their press release.
