Can't help feelin the gig is up for the US as a functioning democracy. I didnt think it would go this bad this fast.
Going to be very interesting what happens in the mid terms, will they be legitimate? I can see Elon getting a contract for new Voting machines and we know what happens next.
Everyone can see it being dismantled in real time but none of the stake holders (congress, Senate, Supreme Court) are doing anything other than supporting him. The judiciary is trying to stem the flow but they are being ignored and have no support.
Feel sorry for decent Americans but more importantly he's likely to fuck everything up for the rest of us with his tariffs and Canada Greenland threats and emboldening Russia

Don’t be so pessimistic about the judiciary. SCOTUS May follow the lead of the Chief Justice who has publicly scolded Trump. Judge Lutig, a conservative jurist, thinks SCOTUS will not back Trump.

Hardly a scolding. Plus they've already done the damage and said he's immune from prosecution, he just has to say whatever he does is in the line of duty. He can do pretty much anything right now with impunity.

Also, lets say he does something and the Supreme Court say its illegal, who's going to Police him? He has replaced most of the government with yes men/women. His AG already says shes there to enact his vision. As long he has has congress and the senate he's golden and I'm fairly confident they'll rig the mid terms.

He has to convince a court that immunity applies. You are right that giving him immunity was a crass error but he still has some steps to negotiate.
The chief Justice’s statement was unprecedented and is considered in legal circles to be a turning point.
As for policing, that is an eternal problem older than Trump: the courts have recourse to US Martials but they are controlled by the executive. If they won’t act, SCOTUS has the power to employ any force willing to do it.
