I think you are confusing the two, why do City need to have heard anything to be confident? The case has finished, we will now know all the evidence, if any, the premier league has. We are most probably confident because seeing the evidence we know there is no chance they can prove guilt.
In an ideal world sure but we are talking about football politics and the future of the club resting on a 3 man tribunal. CAS had a similar 3 man panel and 1 still sided with uefa despite the report stating 12 times that no evidence of disguised owner funding was proven.

The arena is insufficient to deal with serious allegations of fraud. Again I get the confidence.

My point is more to do with the leaks. Having read most of this thread, the charges are very serious and the bar so high that proving we did what’s alleged is very slim to no chance. So yes I get the confidence element again from the outset.

We either know or the club is in the dark regarding a verdict. The lawyers can be confident but again unless they have read the verdict then in the dark like the rest of us.

Can the club and its general counsel be that confident despite not knowing the verdict and despite all of the above?

Someone must be talking for city to act in this way. It’s only my thoughts today. Probably load of bull.

Yes with transfers
Yes with Haaland deal
Yes with stadium expansion
Yes because we have not broken any legal or financial rules.
Yes Cliff has rocked up with his blue balls out -:)

Not uncommon in jury trials (which this obviously isnt). Until the full verdict, both sides are still playing the odds. The case and how it went is relevant information and would swing any settlement offer, but no guarantee.

It’s not happening unless the premier league are desperate to keep the findings silent & it’s not in our interests.

Whatever happens we should be going for that shit stirring website 365 football which must be making a mint out of this. If it is based offshore then we probably can't get them but we still have to try as it doesn't do anyone any good but it does give the gloating masses plenty of ammo while at the same time leaves anyone with allegiances to our club with a pall of depression.

It would be a help of course if Masters was to get on with it but the longer this goes on, the longer he picks up his payslip. If the judgement goes against him, the likelihood of long term unemployment grows. And with him will be quite a few CEOs of other clubs who may be involved in this affair.
