PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Risky, especially with spending £200 million on transfers. On the outside, city appears to be a club going about their business. As you said what else can we do? The confidence is seen as a signal that the club thinks its evidence is enough but they must have more than a wink and a nod from a KC?

Anyway, it don’t really matter. I have always held the opinion that the charges are bullshit underhanded behaviour from a few clubs.

Does they club unofficially know the verdict? that’s a question we can’t seem to get to…soft signals or indeed know nothing more than a confident KC’s steer.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread with my musings. Whats the latest topic? Chicken curry recipes or still muffin debate? -:)
Keep up , it was a fish pie recipe this week .

The polarised opinions of both pro/anti-City agendas on this are blinkered.

Did the status quo want to suppress rogue competitors for ‘their’ honours with obstructive new rules and criteria? Absolutely yes. Did we take the piss with creatively mobilised AD central funds and likely fall into traps? Also yes.

What’s more damning: petrodollar rich Arabian states throwing their wealth around to create best-in-class super clubs, or the fact that that’s seemingly the only way to compete with the previously perpetual top 6?

They set that standard, so our owners obliged.
What you proposing?

For those that may not have seen peps presser, not sure if it’s been discussed. He was asked if with the passing of the international break and still no news on the charges was he and the players starting to get agitated. I paraphrase slightly but he said they’ve been working with this hanging over them for over a year, it doesn’t matter if they have to wait 1 more week, or 2 or 3 and then added or 4 to laughter from the press pack. Still seemed very relaxed.

Key to this is he didn’t say ‘or 5’ of course.

i realise it's a popular modern thang to do,
but i honestly cannot get my head around why people ask questions they already know the answers to.

perhaps you could explain this approach to me.

wouldn't it be more succinct to simply state what you're attempting to say?

along the lines of...

the status quo wanted to suppress rogue competitors for their honours with obstructive new rules and criteria.
we took the piss with creatively mobilised AD central funds and likely fell into traps.

you clearly know how to form articulate sentences
and are obviously in possession of some large words.
so what's it all about?
i'm genuinely interested.

edit:
feel free to say...

should i tell you to fuck off?
absolutely, yes.
My take on it is that sometimes people write so that it reads like a conversation between two people, the first part of their sentence is the question they ask, and the reply received is the second.

Do people read like they hear though? I have no idea.

Not something I often do as I have enough conversations with myself as it is, and the voices tell me not to advertise this fact to others.

'Or four in a row' - keep rubbing it in at every opportunity...

I wouldn’t take anything City have done by way of business as usual as soft signals. City were always going to continue to invest on and off the pitch as we will never accept any upholding of any of the charges.

If some of the main charges are upheld when the announcement is published the war between City the PL and several PL clubs is about to turn nuclear.

Simon Cliff’s statement on Thursday was a move by City, there is absolutely no doubt about that. Lots more will start appearing.

The whole $6billiom CFG is at the stake here and City’s actions will reflect that !

Just to add to your comment, the press conference releases are staggered so that we see a live-streamed recording in real time but the end section is held back (embargoed) for release at 10.30pm, often 24 hours later, so that the one press conference often generates 2 versions. This is important if you are looking for news.

What traps?

The reporting and interpretation of Simon Cliff's actions at the PL meeting are unclear. It is likely linked to the disciplinary case but some people claimed this was a positive signal. On what basis is is positive? I don't rate it either way. This is just tittle-tattle because we don't have any real news so we focus on rumour and talk.

Yep, the war has only just started and if this case goes against us it won't be just a football issue. It will spill over into other areas.
