Roll call for 9 minute protest

Good luck to everyone taking part and you have my full respect.

Unfortunately I’m not there as the match is midweek, and due to travel, this equates to two days off and a 100 quid in petrol/tolls. No offence to Leicester but cannot justify it, esp as Wolves/Villa, probably Bournemouth will be similar.

I must admit I think a protest outside the ground (main entrance), few banners etc will be more visible and garner more publicity. Still brilliant work from 1894 for organising.

For info some of the issues don’t impact on me (season ticket reasonably priced) but it’s considering the issues of others and future generation of blues.

The owners/directors are destroying the very fabric of the club and as the clubs influence grows, its impact on the community, where it’s based, is diminished. It should be a source of pride but many, such as myself, feel completely disconnected and a bit ashamed.

I will be at the next one though as this matters.

What’s the alternative though? Don’t go to the game? give up your season ticket? Just accept it?

Lots of fan protests are held during the match. This might not do anything, but it’s worth a try
Getting all the fans involved is the best way. Many who don't go on here will know nothing about it. My opinion is that we should do it the traditional way. Turn your back on them. When the teams come out everybody turn their backs to the pitch and remain silent until kick off. That will send a clear message and be seen on tv and reported in the press. It's also easy to explain to the person next to you and encourage them to do the same. Turning your back has always been a sign of disdain.

If it’s any consolation I’ve just asked the Blue (not a tourist) who is having my ticket if they will be joining the protest. So will that do? ;-)

@117 M34 I do always vote because as a woman I’m conscious of the fact that women died to get me the vote. I’ve always drummed it in to my daughters and granddaughters if that fact as well. :-)

That could also be an option going forward. To be fair though turning our back has been a celebration for years though - with the poznan

A few thousand not being in their seats for 9 minutes will make very little difference, not turning up will make a huge difference.

Stay away and watch on TV but don't sell on your ticket. That is the only way to protest and make the club think about it.
Completely agree.

Myself and Daughter aren't attending the game, I'm hoping alot more do the same.

Even better would be when there's a game with a guaranteed refund, if everyone put their ticket on the exchange at the last possible moment. That would cost the club a not insignificant amount of money and make it very difficult to sell many tickets.

I’m in Rhodes, we sold our 4 in 132 on the exchange weeks ago, probably to some tourist :) who’s gonna take his seat and piss everyone off doing the usual stuff. Had I been there I’d definitely be sitting out the first nine minutes watching through the gaps at the back of NS1
You can still get a bus from Rhodes to the ground. Middleton isn’t that far ;)

Yes in an ideal world a full boycott would be amazing but look how hard we're having to work to get people to boycott 9 minutes for something that is in their interests to do.
I agree. But the only way to protest to any effect is to protest en masse and not turn up to the game.

We used to have around 36k SC holders, doubt it's that nowadays but say it's 30k. 30 thousand SC holders all boycotting attending one game(without selling seat on) will make big headlines and force the club to take notice and take action.

Loyal supporters need to take proper action before more are forced out because they've been priced out!

Some may see it as cutting their nose off to spite their face but is it? I dont think so when the benefit of effective protest action will be future ticket freezes, even reductions and fucking off our association with unscrupulous online ticket agencies for pure greed.

9 minutes of not being in your seat before KO will be tantamount to pissing in the wind.

Enough is enough, high time to let the club know of our anger and frustration of them taking us for granted and take proper action.

I would have stopped going a few years back, when all this started. But my grandson wouldn’t understand. If he wants to stay on the concourse I’ll back him

I like this idea and if the club still refuse to engage meaningfully, I'd like to see this happen.

It'd force them to at the very least acknowledge that there's a big proportion of our support that don't agree with the direction they're seemingly going in.

This exactly…. just bite the bullet for one game it’s not that difficult.. just like everyone had to stay in doors during lockdown and don’t sell your ticket. I love Man City as much as the next blue.. but do people honestly think the owners give a shit about the genuine working class fan… thought not… these owners bought Man City because of business and not because of the game and our history. I used to think football was a working class game.. not anymore it’s becoming sanitised and soulless.. I look forward to the day when there’s no quads and Europe and Pep.they can kiss my arse.. but I guess they will probably find something else to buy. CTWD

Some good ideas for future action being batted around and that’s a belter. Is the cut-off point for listing to get a guaranteed refund earlier than normal though?

Well fook me readers! I have a cunning plan. I intend to take part in the protest. When I get to my seat circa 10th minute, I will simply ask one of the half and half sporting Viagogo cunts, (who I will invariably find within three seats in any direction),if they would be so kind as to allow me to watch the previous nine minutes on their phone, with one eye on the usual side to side nonsense in real time.
Also, it would be epic if we actually got an early goal, singing 'One nil, to the empty seats' on the concourse. What a time to be alive!

Always have a contingency, kids.
