It’s hard to judge him as a RB because he clearly isn’t one. In fact he is awful as every game it feels he makes one big mistake. It wasn’t a coincidence that every time their calamity keeper had the ball in his hands he kicked it long to the left for their player to attack Nunes. That shows their manager knew he was our weak(est) point. Saying that - back to the original point - he isn’t a RB and the fact he is playing there is on the club and not him.

Him being average.
He’s not great, but he’s 10x the player Rico Lewis is. Who imo, is the worst player to play more than 20 games for any Pep side in history. Rico Lewis playing means EVERY team in the PL has a genuine chance of beating us. Nunez is miles better than him, even in a unfamiliar role

Bit harsh on Lewis that, who isn't a RB either.

and that right there is ricos biggest problem, nobody really knows what he is and where he should go, hes clearly a good footballer but he doesnt particularly excel in any position.
I can't disagree, I see him as a squad player who will do a job at times when needed. Back to Nunes though. I really don't see anything of note with him most of the time. He'll have the odd really good game, but there's always a clanger in him. The last derby game, christ almighty.

Thats not right though as an inverted right back playing next to Rodri he was good, sometimes very good. He has only struggled this season because he hasn't played with a proper pivot helping him. I'll wait and see how he plays next season before writing him off.

TBF, you've no idea what position we bought him for, you're assuming.

Unless we announced it at some point when we signed him.
We can't be certain but we can have a pretty good idea.
He was a central midfielder at Wolves and was bought when we had lost Gundogan and had failed to sign Bellingham, Rice and Paqueta. On the balance of probabilities it is highly likely he was primarily signed as a midfielder.

PS
His first match against Forest he played in midfield his substitute appearances were in midfield and I don't remember to many occasions before this season when he wasn't played there.

Rico catching strays. Lol. The young man didn't even play and yet he is getting abuses

I havent written him off, i think the fact that he is adequate in so many positions is stopping him from developing a little bit

He was better than anyone on the defense other than Rico. And it wasn't close.

We have a few people on autopost. See Nunes and complain. Its that simple for them.

Personally i saw 1 major error from him yesterday, and it wasn't the bad pass. That happens. Bournemouth created that bad pass. Kudos to them.

His real error was how he defended the cross that came in from the bad pass. That was some Kyle Walker level brain fart.

He got in position, had no one in front that was a danger, glanced over his shoulder and spotted the only danger behind him, and yet failed to cut off the angle to the cross. He tried, but there was no reason for him to be that late. He saw the problem early and should have gotten there

I don't remember much of his time at Wolves, but I do remember him playing on the right side at times, possibly more right-wing then right midfield even. Might be wrong though.

Think though that people need to realise that Pep and his team don't think as straightforward as "that player plays there for them, so he'll play there for us". It's more about the skills and tools each player has, and then if we think they have something useful, then Pep will find a way to employ that.

I still feel him, Kova and Doku were signed at a time when teams had started going man for man against us all over the pitch, so he wanted players who could beat their marker. I think now though that that approach was maybe just a short-lived tactic against us and now we're having to use Nunes' skillset a bit differently.

Well, Pep seems happy to use him at times and im sure he knows how he wants to use him. It's the fans that have the issue.
