Roll call for 9 minute protest

It would be better for fans not to attend at all. that will send a message. just feel like a 9 minute protest won't do that much

Would this bollocks even be an issue if we were 5pts in front of the dippers and still in the CL?
we won the treble and plenty were angry at season card increases, plus the number of away fan in the home end that season.

We won 4 in a row and fans were angry that season cards were going up, the new flexi gold tickets being introduced and non blues or corporate fans at away games over match goers.

So yes this has been a long term issue that wa coming to a head no matter how the season would be.

It’ll just seem like a typical midweek game where the appalling congestion on the roads leads to people arriving late.

A mass walkout for 9 mins half way through one of the halves would be much more effective

What do you think Pep thinks we’re protesting about? He knows what we’re protesting about. Did he question what we’re protesting about? The fact he acknowledged the protest, and stated we should be able to protest about the issues effecting the fans, is good enough for me.

I’m happy he is aware of the protest and the issues surrounding the protest. And that he knows what the protest is about. And he does. Pep didn’t come out and side with the club 100%. Pep could have towed the club line, but he didn’t do that.

After the protest Pep and the players will get our 100% backing and support during the game. He will get that support until the end of the season. He knows this protest isn’t about him and the team. And it never will be. :-)

Anyway. I’ve hand enough of arguing the toss and putting the same points over and over again to people who don’t support the protest. If people don’t want to support the protest, don’t support it, that’s your choice. I will be taking part in the protest. And that’s where I’m going to leave it until after the protest.

Those of you taking part in the 9 minute protest, see you on the SSL3 concourse.
I think what Pep is saying is - he is fine for fans to protest if they have issues. Better to make a point as Pep has done in the past with some of the personal protests he has made.

Better would be for Pep to try and get Operating costs of the business down, to a level which would enable the club to look at reducing costs ie Player wages. I'm sure if we had lower costs (football as a whole) - we would hopefully see better pricing for say tickets etc

It’s a protest around ticketing in general, not just a potential price rise again for next season.

12 price rises in 15 years.
Over two dozen of my friends+family have been priced out in that time.
More expensive for my Season Ticket at City than the equivalent seats at Anfield or Old Trafford.
£9 for juniors in 3 of the 4 stands at Anfield for every PL game, [until Christmas it was] £15 for juniors at Old Trafford for every PL game (changed now), yet at City tickets for children are priced for many games from £42-58… FOR KIDS!
No range of prices for matchday tickets unlike other clubs, at other clubs prices can start at £35 and go up to £65 yet at City they can start at £61 and go up to £82. No range of prices to accommodate anyone they can’t rip off, just expensive or very expensive.
The club not communicating with fans over ticket prices when other clubs have been with theirs.
City Matters reps going on strike over poor communication and dismissive ignorance from the club.
Fans who’ve had enough with the amount of tourists and away fans there are in the City home ends.
Situations where worldwide ticket tout sites have huge amounts of our tickets for home and away games and them freely being available for big home games with no membership (CL semifinals or title deciders, for example) or away games with limited availability of tickets, when proper core supporters who try and get them through the proper club channels with their Supporter Number, membership or Season Ticket can’t get them. Many Blues who’d been going to City for decades couldn’t get a ticket for the Madrid CL semifinal a few years ago yet the ground was swarming with tourists and Madrid fans.
Those who can get tickets, can rarely ever get seats next to each other, yet tourists and away fans get a full row together.
No new season tickets for future generations of young Blues… who’s going to support the club when we’re all dead?
Season Ticket holders who give up their seat, they are not re-listed as a Season Ticket and are put on the worldwide ticket tout sites (I’ve had a different foreigner next to me for two years, half the time they aren’t even City fans).
Fans who’ve had enough of seeing rows of fans of random clubs at away games, bringing into question how many tickets the club just give away to nobodies who aren’t there for City.
City away ends swarming with tourists at Anfield and Old Trafford.
A Season Ticket holder of many decades becoming so unwell he had to give his ST up for a few years, when he thankfully got back to full health the club didn’t want to fucking know the bloke and dismissed his requests to get a season ticket back, yet goes to games for individual matches now and sees the ground full of tourists and away fans so it’s not like they’re struggling for seats to give to him.
Many many fans have complained to City Matters reps, 1894, even our City fan YouTubers like Big Steve, about the tourists and away fans situation being utterly fucking wank to be part of in the ground and it not being a good ‘Matchday Experience’, with City Matters being ignored when they ask for a meeting about it, yet in the meantime, the club come out and announce a new worldwide ticket tout partner (which is an organisation embroiled in constant scandals over their operations) which will increase tourists with no memberships and away fans even further in the ground next season.

…and they’re just the reasons I can think of off the top of my head now. Someone else might be able to add as many points again.
Bang on the money.

This thread is like a fan survey for the club. They've done the spreadsheet exercise, they know a lot of fans won't like it but they also know the majority will do fuck all about it and so it will get through. Their vision is for City to continue to be successful and to continue to increase revenues and match day income. They don't think about the success ending and the loyal, traditional support not being there anymore.

We will see continued price rises and third party sales. If existing fans of many years decide to pack it in, that's another ticket they can sell on to others.

I personally think they could be much more balanced. There should be a reward for loyalty in football, there should be recognition that without a passionate fan base the ground is sterile and the team isn't adequately supported. But this is the direction of football, the majority of clubs are doing it and we will not risk being left behind. The board certainly won't be concerned by people boycotting a few minutes of a game, those fans will probably be enjoying another pint and boosting the accounts anyway!

So while the charges are still to be dismissed, we are still fighting for a CL spot, have a Derby and FA cup to play for in a world where children die every second from malnutrition, and just under 180,000 were reported missing in 2024, in the UK alone let's right on bruvver let's go full zit faced snowflake and stand on our heads for whatever trivial bollocks(which it is), because of what?
Fucking ridiculous post.

Jesus wept.

When this works and your ticket price freezes, just a quick "thank you" will suffice

Anyone not joining in because it's "not about ticket pricing" or "not about season tickets" should just be honest that you were never joining in any protest.

Like the Nottinghamshire miners tried to justify their scabbing and greed on some technicality about a vote being needed to come out, you're just clutching at straws trying to use that for not joining in

It's so shortsighted to not see that ANY tap on the shoulder we give the club will help the cause of pricing and SCs as it forces the club to listen and shows them we're sick of being walked over

It's fine if it's not your thing to cause trouble, you're too tight to miss 10% of a match or even that you're naturally a bootlicking conformist, but own it and don't justify your cowardice by having a pop at those who are taking risks to do the uncomfortable things

You can pretend this is about ticket pricing but it isn't. It's been labelled vianoshow and 9 minutes boycott for the 9 ticket resellers. I suggest you consider the politics of soccer casual groups. Perhaps that's why this has gone wrong.

Read the third paragraph again

Not sure what you're on about with "politics of soccer casual groups" but if it's some attempt to call 1894 racist again or some other strawman then I'm not interested as it's bollocks

It seems even with fees viagogo when it gets close to a game could be selling tickets/packages at 80% discount.

I know the prices will be much higher for high demand games, bit it is clear this will swing both ways. Hospitality with 3 course meal and a drink for Foxes £38 with fees added.

The club taking a massive hair cut with great deals for tomorrow should be promoted. It is too early to judge, but as I stated at the start of the thread the deal is due to decreasing demand, it City fans get cut price hospitality tickets due to it, although for low demand games, and wouldn't pay the prices for high demand hospitality anyway, you can at least see a positive.

Far too early to judge though.

Loss leaders at best or just a reflection of the fact we can't give them away (at £38 it's probably all fees)

Normally £250 for the same deal, and it looks like £14 fees £24+14.

City wouldn't sell hospitality at such a low price, but a partner does, so a bit early to condemn the deal with zero analysis.

If the arse falls out of demand, it could mean cheaper tickets for a lot of fans, so I'll wait and see.

I've been in Australia since 81, watched in the Kippax since late 60's followed all my life, came back for Gillingham and other top games, how you can put up with this shit is beyond me, we have lost our club, City have gone as an identity I fell in love with as a teenager, wish Soriano and his mates would fuck off, sooner be in the championship.
