Roll call for 9 minute protest

That says more about the fans than the club

Not really mate, maybe they don't want to be picking up the slack because the club can't flog tickets for a game like this if they can't get near a match of importance?

Fuck you if you want a cat A ticket.

You're a fucking shit fan if you wont take a Cat C ticket that the Cat A attendees can't be arsed going to.

fans cannot give them away on the facebook site and City sit there with there stupid prices, lunacy
Problem here is they went on sale in the summer at those prices and sold out, there is an argument they were too expensive but that's a general argument, with some merit. What you are asking now is that those S/C Exchange / Flexi gold seats not taken up are sold cheaper than those that bought ahead paid. That's a more difficult argument to have.
I bought Palace tickets back in the summer think they were £60 each I wouldn't be too impressed if they started selling on the Exchange for £30/£40.

I was only young and impressionable but do remember my older City mates mocking United for releasing yearly shirts during a time we was every other. As I say, I was young but we have become what we hated in them.

The Oasis kit was mentioned in a list City fans are pissed off with and you highlighted it and basically said it has happened before and will happen again, like that is ok. I am glad to hear you wasn't happy with it because it was shit and shouldn't have happened in a million years with the added argument that a 4th kit is fucking ludacris to begin with. I maybe ranting because I am shocked that fellow blues are picking holes in our grievances against the club and in some cases (not aimed at you) are sticking up for the club. Bonkers
I highlighted it on a list of reasons for tonight's protest. It's ridiculous to lump it in with ticket prices, application and distribution as a reason for a protest. If it was a town hall meeting tonight about ticket prices and Viagogo and somebody at the back shouted "Yeah! And the team wore a kit I didn't like back in September!" - they'd quite rightly be shut down for ranting about a side issue.

We have become what we hated about United in so many ways but kits isn't one of them. You may have been young but you were certainly impressionable because both clubs started to introduce a new home kit each season in exactly the same season - 2006/07. The difference between the clubs was that United had been wearing the same white third kit for three successive seasons before that while ours had been lasting a maximum of two seasons at the same time. We also stopped making away kits last for two seasons before they did.

I really am in two minds about this tonight. I agree with the pro arguments, but think this is too little too late. On the other hand I want to support my fellow blues. I also have a big lad on crutches at the end of my row who really struggles to get up and down. Don't want to disturb him 9 mins in and then again on about 40 when I need the inevitable middle aged piss. Will make my mind up when I am there tonight.

Nobody is going to be stood there tonight with a banner saying "ban the oasis kit" the poster listed it in a list of issues with City. Yes it isn't number one but it shows how out of touch they are and how little they care for the normal fan. It is a side issue off the back of a lot of ticketing issues. Viagogo is the tipping point but there are many other ticketing issues outside of our club teaming up with a legalised ticket tout. We all should want the same thing here

Have your piss during the 9 minutes and you should see out to half time then ;)

See you at 7 then, make sure you have a carnation on then I know it's you to say hello ;)

I will help with moving along the half n half scarf wearing cunts

It should be possible under the cover of darkness to round up the half and half sellers, burn the Stock and give them a right telling off, we would never see them again.
Solve the issue at source-:)
Kids attending their first football match and being g treated to a half a half Scarf by their Dad are a stain on our good name.

Decisions decisions.

I want the same thing but the Oasis kit has nothing to do with ticketing. Jesus wept, it's not that difficult to understand. I didn't like having "MAN CITY" across an away shirt the other year. I thought it was not what a lot of City fans would want. Should we throw that into the melting pot tonight as well? What about inviting Martin Tyler to a fans event? A lot on here don't like him. Is that part of it?

The point I made, and continue to try to make is that the Oasis kit has got fuck all to do with a protest about ticketing because apart from some hurt feelings, it didn't affect a single City fan. Ticket distribution does - it means fans have to sit next to people who are cheering for the away team. Ticket applications does - it means fans who have been going for years miss out on tickets to those who may never have been. Ticket prices does - it means some loyal fans can't afford to go.

Are there any banners / flags/ chants planned in support of this protest tonight or is it just a case of miss 9 mins of the match then as you were for the rest of the game?

Yes, they should. Unfortunately, due to many years of football supporters (myself included) continuing to pay ridiculous amounts for shirts, they will continue to hike the prices.

Your first line - "So you have the choice whether to buy them or not" - forgive me for asking the obvious, but how are you currently not given the choice?
The poster I was replying to said he couldn’t afford them. But was also saying that City having 4 kits and them being exorbitantly priced didn’t affect him.

Already causing arguments and nastiness between fans this. Don’t think tonight’s protest will have any effect at all. Totally staying away is the only thing that’ll work. The club will totally shrug their shoulders at this. Feels very “un**ed’ish” this tonight. I think we’re just going to embarrass ourselves and the media will love it.

Yeah, the issue is that the tickets were priced too high to start with. I think City took it for granted that we would be in another title race just as we have been in the previous 4 seasons. Their pricing for the remaining home games definitely reflects this. Also, with regards to the Leicester game in particular, again (like the Forest game in December) thousands of tickets were farmed out to ticket agencies in the summer instead of going on sale to members, hence creating this false narrative for months that the game was a sell out. Once those struggled to sell and were subsequently returned and put on the planner, coupled with the cheaper £30 Leicester returns, it became a hard sell at £51 for an adult ticket.

Did we all not take the piss out of the rags for protesting when they STOPPED WINNING things, calling them entitled ***** etc etc
Is that we are doing now ?
That post alone just shows you're not being sincere at all when claiming that if it was about kids ticket prices you'd be all for it. You're chatting shit and whatever you perceive the protest to be about, you'd still have something negative to say about it.

Oh, and I'll remind you that last season we were protesting about ticket prices while we were STILL winning things so this hasn't just started since we STOPPED winning things.

A supporter simply put it in a list of things that we, as fans have not been happy with. It isn't top of the list, or close to it. 4 kits a season I do think is a talking point though but that's all it was and like a dog with a bone you haven't dropped it. That kit being worn is way down the list of issues at City and isn't anything with tonight quite right.
