Roll call for 9 minute protest

Was looking forward to this tonight but my son all of a sudden came down with the dreaded sickness bug about 4pm! Couldn't give the tickets away for love nor money so couple of empty seats unfortunately.

Well done to all involved. It came across very clearly on tv and as somebody mentioned got a few remarks on commentary on our stream.

Ball now in City's court. Let's see what this week brings.

It was observed by the South Stand but most people went in at the East Stand. I waited outside Entrance E but went in when I heard Grealish scored because it takes 5 minutes just to get up the spirals.

If there is another protest, I hope the focus is about ticket prices.

The atmosphere was rubbish as usual, and there were no tourists there but at least we won comfortably.

Marvin, the protest was on the concourse for the first 9 minutes, not outside the ground.

So what you're saying is that you're not going to join a protest that will benefit you because you think it might not work?
So?
What are you losing out on here? This is Pascal's wager in the simplest form. There is not only no benefit to you in refusing to participate but your refusal actively hurts the cause.
And what if you're wrong? What if actually it would have made a difference but you just didnt bother?
It's 9 minutes. Nobody is asking you to donate your house here, they (and when I say they I mean every single Manchester City fan group from the 1894 to the Foodbank to the Disabled Association) are asking you to be leisurely when going to your seat.

And how is this "badly organised"

Here it is on the back page of the country's most circulated paid newspaper before it has even happened

Here it is as a story on the country's largest sports channel

Recently @Tim of the Oak said that in his opinion, the club won't ever address the ticketing issues because despite the groups and associations raising them as a concern, ultimately they know that a lot of fans don't give a shit and won't bother to protest.

I think he's wrong but your excuses aren't exactly filling me with hope.

SSN - 1984 Group!! Not sure it was that significant a year for us

Good protest , earily quiet first 9 mins helped by dreadful away support. Doubt the players were affected as with most games they also finished the match in front of an almost empty stadium!
Point has been made and though my City season ticket remains over £100 less than the equivalent here in Leeds i guess the club these days would probably prefer it to be on the open, agency market.

I'm not sure if this is a unique experience but I had more fun in the concourse than in the ground.

Stood with people I wanted to be stood with, singing, the noise not dissipating between levels or out the curved roof.
No one sings in EL3 concourse. I went down at half-time and was talking to the fans on my row. We have decided to transfer to the new North stand if we can as there is no singing in EL3. At the back you also get groups of school kids. The view of the build-up of play is good but there isn't much atmosphere.

I don't think much happened in EL3 but when I got into the ground I could see that the South Stand was largely empty.
Yet loads on here have already posted positively regarding their collective (concourse) experience and take on how well it went in EL3 n elsewhere!

It was noted here on Polish TV. How effective it'll be we can only hope, but even on my visits back home to town, I've had no interest in paying what the going price is, despite formerly having season tickets for decades.

Sucks that the only real way they'd probably take notice is if all those fans never entered the stadium in the first place, but then that'd probably come with a ban.

I wasn't expecting much participation in CB level 3, but I was genuinely heartened by the response.

More people than I thought would be there were sticking around, some of them having far too much fun drinking pints and having a laugh without worrying about drinking up in good time to see the match, and I loved the 'We're not really Here' chant that boomed out 8 minutes afer the game started.

Lots of smiles and 'typical City' looks appeared amongst us after we had obviously missed the first goal.

It was good to participate in it.

I didn’t protest. I was with my son and this is our time together, enjoying the match and build up. He’s only experienced the great times as a child, so it was good to explain why participating fans were doing what they were doing and for him to see their impact

I’d initially thought there were better ways of achieving the purpose. But being in a ground with swathes missing when the goal went in felt like being at a pre-season friendly

Anyone saying it hasn’t created a talking point, trying to play it down, or suggest it was ineffective is wrong. People will have their reasons for what they did or didn’t do. But what we can say, like Pep did in his conference, is that the fans are alive.

Fair play to those who made a difference.

You know the most important thing about this protest? It wasn't that Soriano will now have to take notice. He is a ****, he won't care.

But it involved enough people, and was well enough explained in media and commentary, to be absolutely noticable to anyone watching in, say, Abu Dhabi and for them to understand what it was about.

My problem with the previous steps taken was that they wouldn't be seen by anybody that actually counts. This one will be. So well done to all involved.

I still live in the hope that the owner and Khaldoon, as his board representative, have so far had no idea of the strength of feeling of the fans on atmosphere, season tickets and pricing and that, if they did, they would do something about it. No room for any more doubt. If there is no reaction from the club in the next couple of weeks, if not the meeting tomorrow, then we will know it's not just Soriano and I, for one, will be very, very disappointed.

Club 0 City Supporters 1.

The club need to listen. Look after the regular fans. The club need to ensure that there are enough season tickets allocated to regular attenders at a fair price which rewards loyalty. The club need to stop fixating on annual revenue per user and look after the fans that will go down fighting for this club. Hopefully the club took note yesterday. I suspect additional protests may be needed. We shall see.
