Roll call for 9 minute protest

I was on the concourse for the protest, but I actually thought Leicester had scored it was that subdued.

It reminded of the community shield atmosphere a bit. Just nothing, no emotion or noise. It’s just not the same club when the core fans aren’t there.
Deluded to The extreme - I didn’t hear any singing from the concourse nor did I notice much difference when you the CORE fans arrived but believe what you like super fan

Mate, I'm a season ticket holder for MANY decades. I've seen it all, years of utter shite, I'm just happy for everything our beautiful owners have given us since then, pains me to see people panning them.
Exactly this - I’ve now seen stuff I can only ever dream of trips all over Europe watching City list numerous trophies
not attending Barcelona and Madrid as a tourist for one of their Spanish league games that I’ve done previously
Thank you

People aren't having a go at the owner FFS.

Do you seriously believe that people think that Sheikh Mansour sets the ticket prices for each game? Or had anything to do with the Madrid ticket debacle? Or that he's personally decided new season tickets aren't available?
They are indirectly. The owner appoints the CEO, Chairman and officials.

City fans are unhappy , not with Pep / team, but what point is a successful team if you cannot support them?

How you define your protest matters. It's not simply enough to protest. Take unemployment or any social problem, there's usually a range of responses. Perhaps City fans will win here but we'd be better off if we drop this hierarchy of City fandom. City's fanbase has grown massively beyond the traditional group and this is a positive. This is in danger of being chocked off by a media onslaught that has identified City with cheating, and also by the lack of understanding in our own fanbase of who is supporting City. Many traditional fans see tourists everywhere and blame them for the lack of atmosphere, the availability of seats etc. Tourists exist but there's also a large number of fans coming to City who have just started coming, and they won't for much longer if this 'core fans' vs tourist argument is sustained. It's also true that the demographics of football is changing. Many of the Londo clubs now are completely gentrified. It's starting to happen here too. But is that a problem. It's not true that only working class youth can create an atmosphere. See clubs in Switzerland or Germany. Atmosphere is a state of mind.

You’re happy with everything they’ve given us? What do you think to each of these issues? Are you just fine with it, do you just want to sweep it under the carpet, do you not care?

12 price rises in 15 years.
Over two dozen of my friends+family have been priced out in that time.
More expensive for my Season Ticket at City than the equivalent seats at Anfield or Old Trafford.
£9 for juniors in 3 of the 4 stands at Anfield for every PL game, £13 for juniors at Old Trafford for every PL game, yet at City tickets for children are priced for many games from £42-58… FOR KIDS!
No range of prices for matchday tickets unlike other clubs, at other clubs prices can start at £35 and go up to £65, Liverpool have some £9 tickets for adults and cap all PL ticket prices at a maximum of £61, yet at City they can start at £61 and go up to £82 for bigger games. No range of prices to accommodate anyone they can’t rip off, just expensive or very expensive.
The club not communicating with fans over ticket prices when other clubs have been with theirs.
City Matters reps going on strike over poor communication and dismissive ignorance from the club.
Fans who’ve had enough with the amount of tourists and away fans there are in the City home ends.
Situations where worldwide ticket tout sites have huge amounts of our tickets for home and away games and them freely being available for big home games with no membership (CL semifinals or title deciders, for example) or away games with limited availability of tickets, when proper core supporters who try and get them through the proper club channels with their Supporter Number, membership or Season Ticket can’t get them. Many Blues who’d been going to City for decades couldn’t get a ticket for the Madrid CL semifinal a few years ago yet the ground was swarming with tourists and Madrid fans.
Those who can get tickets, can rarely ever get seats next to each other, yet tourists and away fans get a full row together.
No new season tickets for future generations of young Blues… who’s going to support the club when we’re all dead?
Season Ticket holders who give up their seat, they are not re-listed as a Season Ticket and are put on the worldwide ticket tout sites (I’ve had a different foreigner next to me for two years, half the time they aren’t even City fans).
Fans who’ve had enough of seeing rows of fans of random clubs at away games, bringing into question how many tickets the club just give away to nobodies who aren’t there for City.
City away ends swarming with tourists at Anfield and Old Trafford.
A Season Ticket holder of many decades becoming so unwell he had to give his ST up for a few years, when he thankfully got back to full health the club didn’t want to fucking know the bloke and dismissed his requests to get a season ticket back, yet goes to games for individual matches now and sees the ground full of tourists and away fans so it’s not like they’re struggling for seats to give to him.
Many many fans have complained to City Matters reps, 1894, even our City fan YouTubers like Big Steve, about the tourists and away fans situation being utterly fucking wank to be part of in the ground and it not being a good ‘Matchday Experience’, with City Matters being ignored when they ask for a meeting about it, yet in the meantime, the club come out and announce a new worldwide ticket tout partner (which is an organisation embroiled in constant scandals over their operations) which will increase tourists with no memberships and away fans even further in the ground next season.
Banning fans for helping each other out with tickets.
Banning fans before any guilt of what they’ve supposedly done has been established.
Censuring fans for tragedy chanting when what’s sung hasn’t been tragedy chanting.
Censuring fans for tragedy graffiti on an Anfield toilet cubicle door before any guilt had been established.

And in the wider scope of our boardroom in general:

None of them, not a single one, consulted with fans about the Super League before joining and not a single one of them apologised to fans afterwards.
Not a single one of them stepped forward to apologise to City fans on behalf of UEFA or Turkish authorities after Istanbul and not a single one of them stepped up to do anything about the experiences Blues had towards UEFA or Turkish authorities after Isntabul.

You’re happy with all that?

You could have just wrote, fuck the lifelong City fans who worry about the next generation because the free market is god. The market will determine the price and if you can't afford the price then off you fuck.

The Super League was to replace the Champions League..(the clubs wanted the guarantee of qualification..so the best way is remove the need to) ....there was never any proposal to stop playing in their own countries league.

City felt they had to join and become and founding member as all the main clubs had joined it. It was purely a move to protect the future of the club.

And I have a bridge to sell you ....

True, it was a last minute join by the club as they really didn’t have an alternative. IIRC.

Mate, I'm a season ticket holder for MANY decades. I've seen it all, years of utter shite, I'm just happy for everything our beautiful owners have given us since then, pains me to see people panning them.

Sometimes people need a panning.

I suspect when Mansour and Khaldoon understand the issue we will see progress. They aren't the enemy here. At least, I hope they aren't.

I raised the point on here after the take-over that there is no-one on the Board with football experience. I am talking the Board, not the executive "board" under Soriano with the likes of Danny Wilson on it.

I asked from where does Mansour get his football information to keep the CEO and his team in check? I was reliably told that Mansour appoints the best people and let's them get on with it. That isn't my experience of billionaires, and I have worked with a couple. From my experience, they appoint the best people then gather information from multiple sources and use that to weigh against the information they get from their best people. Especially, I would suggest, on their most visible investment. If you don't do that you get situations like this one and like the ESL.

So, if Mansour's only source of football information is Soriano through Khaldoon, how do fans get messages through? Danny Wilson? Soriano? Useless. You can't email Mansour and no-one is meeting him in the bar .....

The match protest was the perfect way of getting the message across and I can only imagine it worked. I live in hope that, in the next couple of weeks, we will see some change from Soriano dictated from above. I am with @Damocles on this. There is plenty of scope for a reduction in prices and I have even tried to point out why that would be good strategy for the club. But a freeze would be a good start for Soriano not to lose face.

Let's see what happens in the rest of this month.

The main point was the club wasn't removing us from English football like you said.

This was a common misconception at the time with people misunderstanding what the Super League was and it's still being misunderstood today.

To be clear, I am wholly against the Super League and also protested last night.

The problem wasn't only what the proposed ESL was, it was what it would inevitably become. You want to believe Madrid, Barcelona, United, Liverpool and Arsenal executives, that's fine. Luckily most other people saw the inevitable outcome and were incensed by it.

The difference between those fans is that those fans of those clubs aren't excusing their owners by the simple fact that they are the owners, some City fans seem unable to separate the owner and board from the club.

Never have the words "Be grateful" been so sickening from a fan base, we have come a long way but some of what our fan base has become isn't very nice at all.
