They are playing it right, letting the EU and others hit the US with soundbites and reciprocate tariffs, meanwhile ours is ‘only’ 10% which is low compared to others and we’re keeping a cool head on the situation. I say we continue to do that for now and assess all options.
Trumps already rowing back and no doubt will continue to do so, let’s let the dust settle.

Its not 10% across the board tho is it? It's 25% on all imported Cars, this will severely damage JLR and others such as BMW mini plant at Cowley.

The way to approach Trump is definitely to stand strong and reciprocate with strong retaliatory tarriffs, we need to act in unison with the EU and others like Japan and Aus. He will definitely crumble as the US economy isn't strong or big enough to take on the ROW.

Where I agree with you is that the government do have some time to decide where to place these US import tarriffs. No one else has announced these as far as I'm aware. So there is time.

While it seems prudent for the Govt not to take sides between two of the biggest economic blocs in the world, there is a danger you end up getting bummed by both sides.

I lived in what was Wansdyke for 2 years after leaving gods own city and before I moved to where I am now. Im sure he was a Lib Dem then. Failed at a few local elections and became Labour. Maybe wrong. A careerist local govt bloke though no doubt. You know the type
