So many MOM performances, so many assists including the one v Stoke across the whole back line to Sane at the far stick. Glorious. I found the following description of it on-line:

"Genius on the football pitch often appears to the mortal eye like clairvoyance. Watch any YouTube compilation of Lionel Messi assists, or perhaps someone like Andres Iniesta or Luka Modric at their very best, and you will occasionally see them play passes that only they could see. Connoisseurs of the spectacular assist may prefer the sumptuous diagonal cross De Bruyne played to Sane for City’s sixth goal in this same game, whipped in at an improbably perfect trajectory through a forest of legs.

It was an incredible assist, but it’s as much about execution as concept. It’s a frighteningly difficult ball to play. But at least De Bruyne can see the picture with his own eyes before he plays it. If we accept the premise of the Dr Manhattan theory, by contrast, this pass from De Bruyne to Sane is on a level beyond even that. It’s a pass not even De Bruyne could see, but one that as a result of his innate footballing intelligence, his perception of space and time and probability, he played anyway."

Trying to decide which was his best game for us:
v Wolves (A) - one man destruction derby, ran the show, 4 goals, all imperious.
v Arsenal (A) - two of the sweetest strikes in top bins and but for a miracle save would have been a hat-trick.
v Madrid (A) - down 0-1 and dragged us up by our boot straps and smashed one in to level it up.

So many to choose from...

Wow. Well done King Kev. Done the lot

I think the time is right though. I don't want to see him in his last seasons like Yaya did.

Shame we haven't ended on a high, or can we with the FA cup?

Just saw this on the BBC. Sad news but not unexpected and he definitely deserves the right to choose his own time of leaving and the location of his statue.

He was the greatest player in the greatest period of success - it doesn't get any better than that.

Magnificent for 8+ years for us and very kind of him to let his level drop a touch so that we all go "It's the right time" instead of feeling suicidal about losing one of our best ever players. He always was a team man!

In my opinion, the best footballer ever to pull on a City shirt. I’m not sure how many trophies we would have won in the last ten years without him.

I’ll never forget him and, it goes without saying that, I will miss him so much.

So the bbc run a poll asking is he greatest midfield player ever…we know the results already don’t we.

Pure clickbait
We all know the answer to that question. I'm sure you'll still have bellends with their "Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes" denate...All three wouldn't lace his boots.

I've said numerous times before, All those three mentioned aren't anywhere near Yaya Toure never mind Kevin De Bruyne.

Reading this thread is incredibly emotional. How many blues just adore him.
Pure joy.
PS. I hope he gets to read this and truly know what we think of him. Note to anyone at the club: make sure he sees this.

& yet if you listen to those three, they’ll all say the real answer.

I thought we might get one more year from him. Sad to hear he is leaving, perhaps all his recent injuries helped make up his mind. As fans it is easy to forget that when players have been here for so long the club, and everything around it, becomes their home and clearly means something to them and their family.
Nice message from him, good luck to him and his family.
