Gutted - i was born in 72 so missed Lee, Summerbee and Bell although watched the vids. We have been spoilt with who we have seen over the last 16 years or so but for me Kev just the best I've seen and its a hard one as David Silva was my favourite.

It's hard to say but I suppose it's the right time for him to go. Been hard seeing him this season at times, the brain is working but the body has not been at it. Plus it takes a hefty chunk of wages off the books.

Good Luck Kev - can't wait for the statue

I am a 78 year old woman and have supported City since I was 9 years old. I don't live in Manchester and never have but this team captured me in the 1956 Cup Final. When I lived in London I became a season ticket holder and over years have seen all the greats. I sadly can no longer afford a season ticket.
Kevin is best I have ever seen in our glorious blue shirt. He is the type of player who takes your breathe away.
I played for QPR women's team back in the 70's and recently, we as a team, were invited to the Football Museum in Manchester and I mentioned that I had followed City all my life and that Kevin was my all time favourite.
Someone must have said something to the club because I recieved a video message from Kevin.
I will always be grateful he took the time to do that. He will never know what that means to me.
Wherever you go Kevin, I wish you nothing but the best. We will never see your like again but I am so happy I was around to see you in City Blue. Thank you. Now win that cup.

Brilliant post. If you're ever up this way I've got a foc season ticket in the south stand I'd happily forfeit a game for you free of charge.

That’s one of the best posts I’ve had the pleasure to read, bless you for sticking with us through thick and thin, I hope you can still travel up here to see the glorious blues now and again even though unfortunately you can’t afford a season ticket.
Thank you. Yes, I travel every now and then and still get the same thrill as aways. It will never leave. I am so thankful that I have seen this particular period in our history and the incredible players we have had. What a club.

What a Guy, Legend of the Club, i'm gutted, if Gundo was worth bringing back, a fit Kev for a season was worth keeping for one last rodeo imo but the decision has been made, just hope it was his call. Absolutely gutted I'm on holiday for last game of the season so won't get to clap him off the pitch that last time.

MCFC, or 1894 group, whoever, get this good woman a ticket for the last home match of the season and her train fare up from London. Plus a pie and cup of tea at half time.

Great player, won the lot with us. Undoubtedly one of the best to ever grace the Premier League.

But the right time to go. Good luck to Kev and family in whatever comes next

Such a lovely post 'chickaroon', thank you for telling us your story, hope you are in good health and keep the sky blue faith, wherever you are now ... i used to watch City at Loftus Road back in the 70s, i always enjoyed going to QPR whenever we played there, and I didn't realise that they have even had a women's team for so long, but fair play to you for taking part ..... Kevin is a caring guy, a family man, and it doesn't surprise me in the least that he took the time to send you that text.
It was so nice of him. It was a very short video and it will always mean the world to me. I will forever keep the sky blue faith. Will always be my club through good and bad.

Lovely post. Send it to the club for Kevin to read, or put it in the programme for the last home match.
Love to seen his free kick again against Bournemouth when he rolled the ball under the feet of the players in the wall.
I wouldn't know who to send it to at the club. They will have so many tributes, I am sure.

Not that bothered about him leaving. He can’t be that good. He never won player of the month and Rat face has won it 5 times. If only we’d signed Rat face rather than KDB…imagine what we could have won!?
Is that true? tbh it sounds like it probably would be given the state of coverage of City. But fuck me, fernandez has won it more times is total bias shit.
