Even though I knew this was coming, this is still ten times more devastating than I would have expected. I'm actually upset at this. More than David Silva who I always say is our greatest ever player.
I feel this is like what people felt when Colin Bell went.

Perfectly put.

Kevin the King of the Kippax.

Manchester City and the Premier League’s greatest ever player.

It’s been a fucking privilege to watch this great man play at this club for ten years. Before Kevin, we were very good, but we’d never done anything in the Champions League. Kev came and changed all that; he dominated Paris with a MOTM performance against them at home that took us to our first ever CL semifinals.

Even after his first season, you could see he was taking us up to another level.

Over the years he’s torn up the record books when it comes to creativity. By far the most creative player in Premier League history.

As the videos above show, he scored absolute bangers regularly. But also scored against everyone everywhere in the biggest games.
• Contributed to (13) goals against Arsenal

• Contributed to (13) goals against Liverpool

• Contributed to (10) goals against Tottenham

• Contributed to (9) goals against Manchester United

• Contributed to (8) goals against Real Madrid

• Contributed to (7) goals against Bayern Munich

• Contributed to (6) goals against Chelsea

• Contributed to (5) goals against Dortmund

• Contributed to a goal against Barcelona — from two matches

there isn’t anyone anywhere it’s really mattered that he’s not stepped up against and been MOTM at some point against them or created goals or scored against them: match winners, big game points that have lead to titles.

And it’s not just his stats, it’s the way he is just involved in fucking everything throughout these games. Every attack, every chance, every positive forward move, all went through De Bruyne. Whether it was his unmatched passing ability or the way he’d just glide past players with his deceptive speed.

He’s the best to ever do it. His statue deserves to be the size of the Colossus of Rhodes in solid gold out the back of the East Stand. Not only might we not see a player as good as De Bruyne any time soon, we might never see one as good as him ever again. His name will be known as our greatest for a long long time.

That pass to sane was one of the best things I've witnessed in a football ground ..where does he go now.
America ??.

If I was him I'd say that's it.
I'm done
Won it all.
Be to the top .
Retire .
Best of luck what ever you do kev x

I am a 78 year old woman and have supported City since I was 9 years old. I don't live in Manchester and never have but this team captured me in the 1956 Cup Final. When I lived in London I became a season ticket holder and over years have seen all the greats. I sadly can no longer afford a season ticket.
Kevin is best I have ever seen in our glorious blue shirt. He is the type of player who takes your breathe away.
I played for QPR women's team back in the 70's and recently, we as a team, were invited to the Football Museum in Manchester and I mentioned that I had followed City all my life and that Kevin was my all time favourite.
Someone must have said something to the club because I recieved a video message from Kevin.
I will always be grateful he took the time to do that. He will never know what that means to me.
Wherever you go Kevin, I wish you nothing but the best. We will never see your like again but I am so happy I was around to see you in City Blue. Thank you. Now win that cup.
what a lovely post.

It is virtually impossible to compare players from different eras. The game changes so much in every way. For example, King Colin was a master at negotiating the muddy quagmires prevalent in his day. I doubt if Kev has ever seen mud on the pitch.
Each player is unique with his own characteristics. So comparison is a fruitless task. Nevertheless, I am going to do it. I have carried the love of King Colin in my heart for over 50 years and I have no guilt in saying I think Kev was a better player. Why do I say this? I have no idea except my heart says: it’s Kev, you know, it’s Kev.
The King is dead, long live the King.
Very, very hard to choose between the 2 best players ever to play for city - with all due respect to a handful of others - KDB is more 2 footed than Bell, and has probably the greater passing range, but Bell could head, tackle, score more and run all day - and the next day.
For me, an oldie who started in 1966, Colin remains the King, but KDB is the best in the 50 years since. The best of his generation - which is as good as you can be. We're so, so lucky to have had him for 10 fantastic years. Let's hope he goes out with some glory, starting on Sunday.

I think I'd go to Saudi for three years, make £25m a year tax free and then spend the rest of my life leading charity work. His football career doesn't have to be the biggest achievement of his life.

Good luck and thanks for everything Kevin.

what a lovely post.
Brilliant.
Thank you for sharing that
But when you said we will never see the like of keV again.
It made me think in the last 10 years we have seen Vinny..David Silva.
Kev.
Yaya..
And haaland..these players are genuinely world class.
Once in a life time players.
We have seen them in 10 years .
Aswell as others
We can argue who is better keV or Silva.
But it's a nice argument to have.. personally I think Silva is the best we have had.
Very very closely followed by keV
But that only what I think.
Forget trophies to see players like those two play for little old city has been absolutely amazing

Gutted but I guess it is the right time for him. This probably has been posted may times but one more will not hurt.

Thanks Kev!

Fuck me.
People pay these thick cunts to come out with this shit.
And people pay to listen to them.
They talk about football as if they know everything about it.
I have beenn on a plane it doesn't mean I can fly one

Proper order. What moment is it going to be based on? One of these two imo
