Yes
Silva controlled the game.
He controlled every city player on the pitch.
Like no player I've seen before..but kev played balls to team mates that weren't even on .not fair really to compare the two..maybe just be greatfull we got two watch two of the best players to ever play in this country..I know how lucky I have been to see them both actually in the ground live .
I don't think what ever happens in the future I'll ever see better than kev or el mago
Perfect summary.

Never forget - we are told there is no agenda

It is the result of basically being the de facto greatest player in the league and showing it every week for years. You get judged on what you don't do, and not what you do.

Same reason Messi haven't won every single ballon d'or between 2008 and about 2022. Unless you lived it, it is baffling to see how a guy so out of this world better than everyone else basically every time he stepped on to the pitch lost out on a few to a glorified poacher, and even have some discussing whether he really deserved some of the ones he won.

KdB has that problem in the PL. Ever since his debut season the only thing people knew before the season started was that Kevin would be the best player on the pitch most of the time. The awards has always been his to lose, not win. Also he played in blue

As much as I love Kevin, this is the right decision and gives me a lot of confidence that we will get this rebuild right. Ruthlessness is the most important component, and I am sure a winner like Kev understands and respects that. He helped us become the best club in the world, now he should wind down and let the next generation of players help him harvest being a club legend in the best club in the world. That is how you get eternal life as an all-time great

Let us just remember, it doesn't realy matter who is better than who. These things cannot be proved. He is The Ginger Prince. A wonderful footballer. Really, a fantastic footballer. And by all accounts, a thoroughly decent gentleman.
A great passer of the ball. I have also seen him pass the ball straight into touch. Who cares? A great example of a fast slow player. Loved to see him driving forward with the ball. Took responsibility. Very serious. Well done, Kevin. Time will be (already is being) very kind to you. And rightly so.

It's hard not to feel very sad ... this really is the worst & saddest part of supporting a football team ... saying goodbye to a longstanding favourite, who has given you years of excitement & hundreds of joyous memories.
And KDB has been out of this world, time & again.
Club legend ad infinitum.

It doesn’t happen a most clubs. It’s remarkable how many players have stayed with us for 10 years!

Surely there’s someone lined up so. You don’t let someone like KDB go if you’ve no plan made.

Yep. It's the correct decision (as much as I hate it). I feel better knowing that it was our choice though. Makes me think we have an alternative in the pipeline. Either bought or in-house.

I don’t think there is a team in history that KDB doesn’t walk into. 1970 Brazil, Cruyff’s Dutch side, peak Barca. Any team any time anywhere.

Don’t think you can say that about Scholes or Gerrard.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, and Scholes & Gerrard were fantastic players in their own right, but I’m with you. De Bruyne at his peak was just on another level to anything we’ve seen in the PL. An insane talent who will be incredibly difficult to replace. It was a privilege to watch him.

I couldn't post on here yesterday, but just want to say that yesterday, when I read his "letter" to the fans, I properly welled up - I was at work too!!

I felt really sad yesterday - I agree that it probably is the right time, but he's been part of our lives for ten years.

I'm not getting into the debate of who was better out of David Silva and KDB.......in my opinion it's a debate that can never be settled.

All I know is that KDB is/was a unique player - a player that can do things with a football that nobody else can do.

Truly world class.

Im years to come, when the topic arises (because it will) on Bluemoon of "Which player were you saddest to see leave City" my answer will now always be Kevin De Bruyne.

I thought it would always be Sergio........but it's De Bruyne

(For the record, my daughter is called Aurora Silva - her middle name being after David
My 15 month old son is called Haaland Kevin - his middle name after De Bruyne (his first name after Alfie.....lol))
