Premier League Games | 5/6/7 April '25

What odds on Southampton beating Derby's record?

Lose today and they have 7 games to find a point.
Crazy when you look at the squads. Southampton are by no means good but some PL experience there and some exciting youngsters.

That Derby team were a championship side through and through and played like one every week. Worst squad I have ever seen in the Premier League. For that reason alone that record should never be broken.

Worrying though that all promoted sides are basically as hopeless as Derby every year now

Salah has pretty much single handedly carried them to the title. Take him out of the equation, and they're a bang average side. People bang on about this side being one of the best dipper sides ever. Bollocks. They're nowhere near the side of the late 70s/mid 80s era. That we couldn't run them close this season is a damning indictment of us.
They're not a patch on the dipper teams that run us close a couple of times a couple years ago

If we would have invested in this team we would have walked this season & had 5 on the run. Quality of football this season is so bad

Club really fooked up last summer.

Arsenal have thrown this season away against a shite Liverpool
Think lack of injuries, particularly to key players, has been crucial to Liverpool running away with this season's title.
In fairness to the Arse, they have had injuries to important players, as well as City have...

What's the earliest (in terms of remaining games) that a side has been relegated from the PL? Logic would say it has to be THAT Derby side. But Saints can't be that far behind (in front?) of them. 7 games left after today.

Salah will be going down quicker than a u boat spotting a destroyer assuming he gets into the box again he has only had one touch there this half .

Very reminiscent of when we battered them in 2020 after they'd already won the league.

Don't think this Liverpool side will be anywhere near the title next season, their midfield is bang average

Arsenal also has the issue that they have a coward on the sideline more afriad of losing than he wants to win, and a culture in the dressing room that drains them mentally which results in them only performing when the pressure is off.

If Arsenal under Arteta is your closest rival, you will fill up on silverware

Derby got relegated 29th of march but with 6 games left. Soton getting relegated today would set a new record
