United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

That's a risk whichever game we introduce him on currently. Or do we just waiting a couple of years until we've steadied the ship?

He started 20 games last season for River Plate so I would say that's pretty regular to be hone
yes we wait till he is ready

the talk of starting him is just desperation for people to see their shiny new toy....we have been shit so I get the desperation but he clearly aint ready - he aint even making the bench so that says everything.

The rags are seriously shit, yet pep managed to make us even worse, good effort :-/, a fuckin disgraceful “performance”
It wasn't the best I grant you. Very tepid in fact. We looked a bit ordinary but there's been 8 or 10 showings this season that were far worse. Going to take a bit of effort to get back to the top.

He isn’t going to change a system that has been so successful.

It’ll be same system next season with 6/7 new heads.

Anyone expecting anything else is going to be very disappointed.
Don't think it's going to work as well. Apart from anything else getting in players comparable with the 2 Silvas, Kev and Gundo is going to be tricky.

Pep did what many of us have wanted him to do over the years and that's be pragmatic.

A useful point for City. Win our home games and draw away. That will be good enough.

I do wonder though how we are going to break Palace down. We can't start KDB and Gundogan again.
what would the reaction be if they'd hoofed it over the top run on and scored because that was their game plan at home
not saying we were great and i'd of picked different team but i dont watch them training
i hate playing them lot

In defence of today's performance.

Name another match you have watched where within minutes (2?) Of the kick off the ref books one of your best defenders and then......
Within 45 seconds after the kick off for the second half books another one of your players.
IMO the ref made a statement to our lads and this was born out by a Sky stat showing they won 75% of the duels.

Talk about levelling up.

That was shit. Again. Kovacic, Gundogan, KDB and Bernardo, we’ve seen it all season and it’s not getting any prettier. These players are past their prime, it’s just sad to watch us play these days.

Play the promising young DM, try Foden at 8, Grealish at 10. Play with your young attacking wide players. Have a go at a poor United team. Try something a bit different.

But no, Pep continues to pick his favourites, another piss poor performance ticks by, and this shit season fizzles out with another masterclass in mediocrity.

Onto the next one…
My thinking exactly. Grealish has looked ok in the 10 role. They are not fucking wingers! Play to their strengths. Phil at 8, Marmoush in the middle Doku and savinho would give us width and pace. Can't be any worse than that performance today. I would sooner go for it than that.

Pep has literally just (finally) admitted the players are not able to do what the system demands.

Pure changes incoming.
I'm pretty sure he's acknowledged that and said as much for a while now, yet still nothing changes, the same past it players, playing the same rigid system, with the same turgid outcome.

Has to be up there with the worst derby I have ever watched .

No intenstity or fight. Weird atmosphere (swamp aside) and almost felt like a pre season friendly in heat as majority of game was walking pace.

Completely dumb founded.

Rebuild begins…

Only uplifting part of the commentary was the coverage of how much of an Omnishambles the red shite are as a club.
