A draw is neither here nor there to them. They also have a very important Europa game on Thursday. I think Pep knows our limitations now and a point was the plan all along. He is banking on home wins and an away win at Southampton I think,The game just reflected the poor seasons that both clubs have been having ..... quality was sadly lacking, penetration was too, and a goalless draw always looked to be a likely outcome ..... neither club lost, and a point each isn't to be 'scoffed at', but in truth it doesn't really help either club.
Pep seemed happy enough, congratulating all the players at the final whistle, but in seasons gone by he would have have been livid if we'd dropped points in a game such as this.
Every team looks better at the back when facing HojlundPep is not going to throw this group of players under the bus.
The squad rebuild is underway.
No point crying. Pep and the club decided to stick with the current group that won it all. Unfortunately the cliff was approaching and no fucker seen it.
We are hardly going to fuck then over. This is it until the season finishes. Top 5 looks 50/50 at best.
If we ain’t good enough, we ain’t good enough. Sort it out and come back stronger with fresh players capable of performing to a higher standard.
Today’s game was just like so many. Very bland and blunt with no creativity. At least we look bit better at the back.
"I saw many good things"
Bless his cotton socks.
Grealish and Gonzales. Swap any 2 of the 4 who started. You seem to be arguing that there was no other choice than starting the 4 pep chose today. You’re entitled to that view obviously, but I’m not sure it is an accurate takeSo go on who and where?
Dare I say it, he was just playing false.Although Kev seemed to be playing as a false 9.
He'll do it if there's value to it, but what does chucking club legends in the last few weeks of their career under the bus do him, us, the players, anyone. He'd just lose the respect of players he loves and we love. What's he meant to say, Kev's past it, Bernie is like an old horse that has run his last race, Gundo should have never come back, and Foden's not right in the head? If an FA cup semi and a potential CL place finish is this shocking cliff edge drop off then we are doing alright as a football club.dont look into that too much....Pep has clearly said on numerous occasions that he wont talk negative in public about the players performances. He knows it aint good enoough - he has said it last week when jokingly asked about players bonuses and his own
I would have started Gonzales I agree but that doesnt solve the issues of Gundo and KDB in particular....Grealish and Gonzales. Swap any 2 of the 4 who started. completely agreeHe'll do it if there's value to it, but what does chucking club legends in the last few weeks of their career under the bus do him, us, the players, anyone.
Exactly - completely agree which is why i said I wouldnt read too much into what he says in interviewsHe'd just lose the respect of players he loves and we love. In this modern day and age of social media and 24/7 media coverage, perception is everything. Truth is almost secondary. And the perception after listening to that is that it was a load of bollocks. You disagree. So be it. I'm not going to argue all night about it. You think you're right, I know I am.dont look into that too much....Pep has clearly said on numerous occasions that he wont talk negative in public about the players performances. He knows it aint good enoough - he has said it last week when jokingly asked about players bonuses and his own
Jack can actually run tho. Sadly that’s an upgrade on both Kev and gundo at the moment. At least we agree tho that there was actually another choice than picking the starters he didI would have started Gonzales I agree but that doesnt solve the issues of Gundo and KDB in particular....
Not Grealish however..he adds nothing and hasnt done for a long time. ..he was bang average when he came on and didnt look interested ...Doku was poor but at least he tried as he always does.
Pep has had many many chances to start Grealish in more central positions and the other night was one of only a couple of times he has done it over the last 18 months where KDB has struggled...there will be reasons for that and its either Pep believes Grealish cant do it and aint good enough (except against very poor opposition) or there is something else..
Ive said about Grealish before and nothing has changed my mind that there are possibly lifestyle problems that Pep aint happy about as well as him generally not being good enough
There are probably 3/4 lesser players you can add to that too.The old guard desperately need to be shown the door with a big thank and legend status but if I never saw KDB, Bernardo or gundo play for us again I wouldn’t be bothered.
yeah ive said numerous times he should have started NicoJack can actually run tho. Sadly that’s an upgrade on both Kev and gundo at the moment. At least we agree tho that there was actually another choice than picking the starters he did
The current manager of PSG is worthy of consideration imo, when Pep eventually leaves. So you get rid of Pep. Who you going to appoint. Easy to keep criticising.
Yes I am.You are presuming we get the level of player in that we need...
You are talking abuo replacing World Class players in KDB and Gundo - that aint easy and will be amde even harder if we dont get CL places which at present isnt likely
Who do you think we get to replace KDB and Gundo as no one mentioned other that Wirtz is even close.....certainly not the likes of Wharton.
