President Trump

I have fucked up others must pay - go swivel Orange One, you and your lickspittles have it coming to you

I know Starmer has to play the game with Trump but I hope its principal purpose is to buy time - and I do wonder, if this present insanity ends in a global recession how reluctant he will be to point the finger at who unquestionably will have caused it.

It won't end in a global recession.
There are more countries in the world to do business with than the yanks.
We do, however, need to choose with care who we do business with.

I think it has to at least be a possibility that it will.

Completely agree with the last two sentences though.
If there was to be a referendum in the future regarding rejoining the EU now would be the ideal time.

I’d vote yes in an instant.

And this is from someone who mistakenly voted to leave in 2016.

USA is up to 25% of the world economy. If they tank, the world tanks.
But there are real things to do elsewhere, Canada is doing oil deals with India, China, EU.
That fucks US big time.

And yet everyone is ripping them off.

I’ve dealt with people like that. Richer than everyone around them, and yet unhealthily obsessed that people they interact with: employees, subcontractors, businesses associates are ripping them off. It’s not enough that they are richer than everyone else, they are prevented from enjoying it due to their own neuroses, which are in the main unfounded and certainly lack perspective. Horrible, graceless, ungrateful cunts.

You forgot to mention bullies as well.

Which in many cases is how they got rich in the first place, a behavioral pattern which became ingrained and prevented them easing up and enjoying the fruit of their "labours"

There are studies that show typically the wealthiest are less attentive to the needs of others than the poorest are. Chicken and egg of course, did they get wealthy because of that trait or did it make them that way? Either way there comes a point where that lack of attentiveness to the needs of others diminishes you as a human being. You no longer experience the full normal range of emotions associated with a species that is inherently social. Plenty of people chase more material things to fill a void but some take it to great extremes. Not just horrible, graceless and ungrateful but not even fully human, what a life to condemn yourself to.

You haven't seen the terms they would offer.
The obvious one would be we have to join the euro but there would be no favourable terms offered to us. Why would they ?

I’ve long been convinced that a certain character trait is needed for most of these people to become mega rich. Most of us really are not driven by this trait and thus we remain average in wealth at best.
Spend 24 hours a day for six months trying to set up a mega deal or spend time with your kids? No brainer for me.

The derogation from the euro by UK and Denmark is written into the Maastricht Treaty. Very hard to change that, every party would have to agree and Denmark won’t.
Favourable terms would depend on EU seriously wanting to pivot away from USA. A much stronger move if UK is detached from US entanglement and more in line with EU. So possible, if unlikely.

I dont see it as unlikely, I believe the EU would want us back because, particularly as the world is at the moment, together is stronger. I don't think we'll go back on terms as favourable as we left though, and that would be no ones fault but ours

so the Orange genius has fucked two of his efforts -

1/ oil price tanks so his handler Vlad who he promised he would not tariff now gets a fraction of what he was getting for his illegal oil sales.

2/ oil prices tanks so the impetus of his "drill baby drill" idea is a non-starter. Why extract extra oil to flood a market thats already tanked ?
