I would be very in favour of calling the new stand the kippax

I went to the top of that terrace for a match in 1966. You needed binoculars to see much of the action from the top. Very few ventured up there by then and the high part of the terrace was largely unoccupied. It must have been awesome in the late 1940s when Jimmy Seed's team was fighting for trophies and it was the biggest club ground in London.Anyone remember the size of the East Terrace that Charlton once had at The Valley back in the day, ran down the side like old Kippax without roof, it was fuckin huge, held more than a lot of other grounds entire capacities !
It is kind of sad that none of the stands (as with most bowl types) actually stand out cosmetically in appearance or characteristically in their own right like stands of old.we do need a name for the other 3 stands. Even the south stand was the key 103 stand for a short time.
I always thought it a bit odd it was called Kippax St. anyway. The actual street more came out at the North Stand than the Kippax.

Completion of the Nth stand revamp may change that, granted.
Entirety of East lower would look the business if made safe standing...
I first went on it late 70s, no segregation n nowhere near full but still an awesome looking terrace that can't be erased from memory.I went to the top of that terrace for a match in 1966. we are The Kippax boot boysUntil now I don't think I have ever said Kippax st was always just.
The Kippax
There was no "windy corner" at Maine Road but we still called it that ...and "dog shit alley" was alley number 1 or summat like thatThere is no such thing as the Kippax corner at the Etihad, even though some City fans call it that.
There are hundreds of blues that still call it The Kippax and /or Kippax corner. We even still chant it on occasion. Thanks mate. 7 pages in and you're the first one! Thought people might like the idea of it! Turns out I was wrong. For me there's a big story there thats positive. It could and should live on in my view.
The old standing terraces for me.It’s a fine line between remembering, marking and respecting your club’s past and living in it.
Calling any of the stands at the Etihad ‘the Kippax’ would be doing the latter.
And which Kippax would we be naming it after?
Don't say that or someone will photoshop an image with a 'Dog Shit Alley' sign on it!There was no "windy corner" at Maine Road but we still called it that ...and "dog shit alley" was alley number 1 or summat like that
That is a great point. Why was the Platt Lane stand named as such when it was nowhere near Platt Lane?
Get the bird back hanging from the roof as well.
