President Trump

The thing that bothers me is that the checks and balances in place to reign in this type of individual, for the most part haven't worked.
Trump is above and beyond the reaches of the law it seems and his bullcrap is still repeated and believed by so many of the faithful.
He needs to be removed from office immediately.
There are only 2 options as I see it.
1. Kill him.
2. Have him certified.
Only after one of these solutions has been achieved can America begin to be rehabilitated.
A bully, a bulsh1tter, a narcissistic liar, conman, sex pest as President?
Who would have thought?
If the division in the general population continues to grow there will ultimately be more than peaceful protests.
If there is a god, then god help America.
you missed convicted felon, shame on you

I think they will try to spread this disease to Europe too
Where they've plenty of supporters of course

His buddy Musk has the bank balance to ensure the populist ideology hits European democracies. They’ve tried stoking it up here during last summer when riots hit Southport, he has the platform in X to brainwash easy targets round to his way of thinking.

I’ve long been convinced that a certain character trait is needed for most of these people to become mega rich. Most of us really are not driven by this trait and thus we remain average in wealth at best.
Spend 24 hours a day for six months trying to set up a mega deal or spend time with your kids? No brainer for me.
Would you want to spend time with Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka, Tiffany or Baron. If they were my kids I'd be a bigger **** than King Orange.

'Downing Street has declined to officially back a "buy British" campaign in response to Donald Trump's tariffs.'

I can see Starmers stance on this as he tries to walk the tightrope, at least in public.

Over here we haven't waited for a government to direct us, many consumers do their best not to buy American wherever possible. It's difficult, because we buy so much bloody stuff off them.

Even the grocery stores are marking what is Canadian, but you have to be mindful of the sneaky buggers, because they'll mark things like "Packed in Canada", which implies America as the source.

The provinces have stopped purchasing American made alcohol (and Canada consumes a LARGE amount of American alcohol) and has companies like Jack Daniels squealing as it makes a huge whole in their sales.

Apps have been developed that can tell you the origin of the produce, especially if it's made south of the border and of course social media has gone into overdrive.
.
.

.

There are two really positive things to come out of all this over here.

I didn't think Canada could be so united and Trumps rhetoric about Canada being a 51st state has really fired them up.

The second point is that some insignificant and obscure companies which produce quality products have now had their sales rocket as people have gone online and researched alternatives to their usual American made products.
.
.

The UK (or any other country) doesn't need govt approval not to buy American, they can do it themselves if they feel inclined to.

The only way Trump and his cronies will be deposed will be by the people and if they are losing their jobs and homes because people (and countries) are refusing to buy their products, then that will help contribute all the more to that.

It's probably going to happen anyway when global trade gets reorganized and circumvents them, but any little bit helps along the way.
We have had these campaigns (buy British) in the past backed by huge TV spend and they failed. With even less British things to buy and media being even more expensive and fragmented now, we would probably be better off doing nothing !

I've decided to believe implicitly everything that he says and everything anyone in is administration says. It will hurt my brain and heart less. Everything is going to be great, like we've never known before.

I checked my investments this morning…. Makes for some pretty grim reading.

Donald Trump has literally cost me thousands. Stupid fucking rednecks voting him in.
I'm going to be working until I'm at least 90 at this rate......assuming I live that long!

I guess all any of us can do is sit tight instead of panic sell. After all, I doubt there are too many safe havens to move our investments to at the moment. If anyone has any spare cash, maybe even use some of it to buy the dips?

Yeah it’s the worst possible time to sell. Best to just ride it out and hope things stabilise.

If I had a few quid lying around I’d be buying cheap stocks right now…

All the idiots in America who voted for him are to blame. They knew he was an unstable sex offender…. Difficult to understand why they thought he’d be capable of managing the biggest economy in the world.

I think the main “problem” with immigration is that early immigrants were not only absorbed into the community, but they wanted to be both absorbed and assimilate.

Today, it seems like some immigrants take great pride in NOT assimilating and trying to force change towards their desires, their culture, their religious beliefs, and thus create a very different culture for everyone.

When I travel, I live by the credo “When in Rome…” I try to dress and behave like a local. I’m painfully aware of the ugly American stereotype and will actively avoid crew members on layovers who present as such, and will remind them, when necessary, to keep it down, you’re not in your living room at home now!

If I moved to XYZ, I would do so because XYZ was attractive to me, be it job opportunities, culture, geography…and the last thing I would want to do is drag my old life along in an attempt to change people in my new life…with the exception of Hob Nobs, Lion’s Wine Gums, and a good meat pie, of course!

I think immigrants who emigrate with the intention of NOT CHANGING and attempting to assimilate do their new host country a disservice, can alienate themselves in the eyes of locals, and can lead to prejudice where none previously existed.

I travel to visit other cultures, see new things, experience new foods, etc… I don’t pack America (or England) in my suitcase and bring it out when I travel, so that the citizens of my host country can treat me like I like to be treated at home. Isn’t that the point of traveling, or moving overseas? New and different experiences?

When I went to the Taj Mahal, some in my group wore shorts and some of the women didn’t wear modest clothing or bring a scarf to cover up. They were simply not allowed into certain buildings and were ogled unnecessarily for their lack of propriety.

Now, it was a hot day, but if you don’t take even a second to understand the cultural significance of the place you’re visiting, then expect to be treated as such…whether a tourist or an immigrant!

When in Rome works for me.

I didn't notice the Pilgrim Fathers trying to assimilate.

Who's not trying to assimilate?
