United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

They are gonna end up banning half the ground when they try holding a minutes silence for baconface when he finally croaks it. I'll certainly be loudly verbally desecrating his fucking corpse and I don't give a shit who thinks its in bad taste.
I can only be the person I am. You talk about 'bad taste'. It's infinitely worse than bad taste - just doesn't enter my head to be like that. Not for me.

Only because we were high up the pitch trying (unsuccessfully) to attack meaning we were usually outnumbered when they hoofed it forward.
Well hoofing it or not which again is a comment I would not use was far more effective then our attack, only one team looked capable of winning and it was not us.

I look at it like this - after 31 games, every club is exactly where they deserve to be - no false positions, no ifs, no buts, no maybes, no cuddas, no shuddas. We're sixth and Utd thirteenth. Neither side can argue with that. Moyes built his pre-Utd career on low block, set piece footy and that continued at Utd. van Gaal - a pragmatist - tends to shape his teams to the players' skill set - Utd were already sliding into low block mode when he arrived and he continued with that strategy. Maureen made his name parking the bus and at Utd deployed that tactic against every decent side. OGS, Rangnick and ETH couldn't seem to get players out of that safety first mindset. And now they have Amorim. His own post-match words said it all. On live TV he said he set his players up in a 'low block' formation. This was Utd at home against us - pathetic! Other top coaches would have sensed that we're not at the races, weakened by injuries and gone for our throat. But they didn't - they sat back and waited for mistakes - and yes we gave up possession quite easily when high up the pitch allowing Utd to counter attack. And just like they've been doing all season they showed no composure in and around our area. That's why Utd are thirteenth. And that's why Utd didn't look more likely than us to score imo.

Tbh if I had heard utd fans, or Liverpool fans, after a four consecutive titles, a treble, total domination, moaning that they should sack that manager because of a bad season, I would call them entitled.

But im told its expectations, not entitlement when it's City fans. I call it shocking.

Yeah bad season, yeah pep screwed up, he continues to try to find the best solutions, but sacking the best manager, swapping him with the fkin Bournemouth manager (real suggestion) after half a season is fucking madness.

Give it time, we've been here before, we will come good. Pep deserves more than a chance.

Right, throw your shit.
A quality attention seeking post right here, not quoting anyone, just a general rant off the back of nothing.

You didn't hear any of them fans complaining during bad periods because it was before social media. Opinions are more prominent due to not being able to move without hearing one. It is expectations, it is standards and having an elite mentality, not being entitled. It doesn't sink in but this isn't about winning anything. For myself personally I complained about our slow boring style whilst sitting top of the league. It isn't the fact we aren't going to win the league, the problem is the style of play, the lack of ideas, the repeating of the same mistakes and expecting different outcomes. He isn't trying to find solutions by playing a slow, old, ageing and out of form players over pace, energy and inform players sat on the bench. I only seen one poster mention the Bournemouth manager so a bit of a wild one to throw out there. Ultimately as I have said a few times now, it has to be better than this with our squad, we shouldn't be scrambling for a top 5 position after winning the league. We shouldn't be playing such crap football with the best manager in the game around surely. Should the man who keeps flirting with leaving, who delayed our rebuild be the man to start the next one which will take another year or so? That is questionable. His achievements are second to none, we won't have a manager deliver what he has ever again and all of our success falls at his feet. As does the blame if he consistently gets it wrong.

A 0-0 at the swamp was not a disaster, we can’t win ‘em all rather than give credit to the rags.

What would be a disaster? Whoever we played, and when every point is vital, we played a lower league side away from home, who had a poor home record and failed to muster up a decent chance. That isn't positive by any stretch

I don't know your trying too cover our own weakness with the Rags.

We are 6th and if we did not get off to a superb start at the beginning of the season would be down with the rags.

Like it or not they are starting to look better, where we are going knowhere, if you don't think we have major issues your dreaming.

Still a difficult place to go, FACT as Rafa would say!

Dropped far too many points this season.

We ain’t very good.

blip? Hope so. I miss watching footy porn -:)

The problem for City with that particular starting line up was the total lack of a goal threat.

It was 2024 when De Bruyne and Silva last scored a Premier League goal for City whilst Gundogan's record is even worse.

Foden's little purple patch had ended in mid January whilst Kovacic and Gvardiol both netted once the same month.

No pressure on Marmoush then

Personally, from the moment we knew that Chelsea hadn't won, I would have settled for a clean sheet.

They do raise their game for the big boys, Arsenal, Liverpool and us have all had disappointing draws v them
They do, although they was only slightly less shit than us, they didn't need to raise their game as there wasn't really a contest on offer. The problem for us over them teams mentioned is that disappointing draw and display is not in isolation.

Take your Blue specs off, they had their chances to win it
Yes they did, they was the better side marginally. That was down to us being absolute dog shit. If we turned up and attempted to play football or attack who knows what might have happened. We played 13th place who have lost more than they have won at home. Tough place though ey

Our away performances have been absolutely crap all season with the exception of the first two, Chelsea and West Ham and maybe Ipswich although they are shite so hard to tell how good a performance that was. We were fortunate to win at Wolves and at Spurs too. Some of the others have been dire. Home ones only marginally better.

How we still have a chance of CL is a miracle based on how we have played.
