Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

TBH I wasn't at the match. I couldn't get out of work.

That's good to read.

Just a hope. Maybe City are somehow selling tickets to families cheaply on the QT. Probably not, but you never know.
Like you, I doubt that, which is a shame. Danny Wilson came to our OSC branch a while back and I made the same point to him there that I made at CM regularly, which is that it would cost £200+ for a family of 4 to attend a game at City, when it would be much cheaper down the East Lancs at Anfield.

It was funny though yesterday as I was in my seat quite early. As I'm by the entrance to the stand I see everyone coming in, and it was immediately noticeable how many were clearly unfamiliar with the seating and were spending time looking for their seats, or asking the stewards.

In fact even one of the stewards was clearly struggling as he'd directed a family to Row D, when they were actually in DD.

I would never mistake a D for a double D, there's hope for me yet.

there was a seat going in the 9320 area yesterday for around £120 one hour before kick off on Viagogo,

Shame a blue could not have filled that seat.

For anyone thinking of giving up their season ticket - DONT.

Like big Steve says, it’s what the club want. To sell it on at matchday price for more money. Loan it out for the season to a friend, family member, neighbour, whoever. Just don’t give it up or you’ll never get it back.
I have 4 tickets had for many many years and I'm thinking of calling it a day for all of the reasons that have been quoted, I think I might offload them for a season and see how I feel watching at home.

Had a pint with a mate today..he used to watch the rags home and way in Europe everywhere.
Last few years him and a few rag fans have been going to watch Buxton.
He told me today Buxton play away at alferton on Tuesday.
He's paid for 5 of them match ticket x5.
And 5 tickets for the coach.
It was less than 100 quid .he said they will go in the pubs near the ground have a beer with the opposition fans .stand with your mates..drink in the terrace .
And you don't watch millionaire average players rolling around cheating..I wouldn't swap what I've seen watching city since from 84 till now..up and down.
Sometimes proper shit.. dreaming of going to Wembley especially against spurs in quarter final.
To the semi final against the rags.
Aguero 93.20 probably the best moment in my life.
Winning the treble .
100 points
4in a row..watching David Silva (that on its own was something I'll never forget and I don't think any other player will come close )
But it's just too fucking expensive.
Unfortunately I think my time watching the love of my life.
The one constant.
My only true real love is over because it's too expensive.
I can afford it .
I just won't pay what it is.
42years watching my team home and away.im 48.
My dad got me my season ticket when I was 8 and apart from 2 years I've had it since.
I used to feel part of a family.
Like the club needed me.
I don't now I feel like I'm stopping a glory hunter or influencer buying my ticket.
I don't feel wanted.
Our owners have let me witness and feel something I didn't dream was possible.
But the last few years it's come at a cost of the normal proper working class fans
I used to get in the ground and see lads I've been mates with since I was 16 on the kippax.
Not anymore

I suppose you can't have both your either average or shite in the pitch with local fans.
Or brilliant on the pitch but that brings glory fans.
Would I swap the feeling of 9320 to go back to a ground full of proper blues.

Maybe ...
It doesn't feel like my team anymore.
Once a blue always a blue.
I'll always be a blue.
But an armchair one from now on.
CTID X

Thanks for that post, it makes me realise how lucky I am. Nearer 70 than 60 but still have the energy and desire to see as many games as possible, still love it especially the away games.

I still wake up Match day with the same feelings I had as a kid going to Maine Rd, or Villa Park for the Semi final, and the final v Leicester.
I suppose one day I will feel like you, and retire to the armchair, but until then I will put some more miles in and enjoy every moment of it.
Enjoy your retirement Blue, you have deserved it.

Intrigued to know what Danny's response was mate?

Why was his reply?

First I’ve heard of this! That would immediately put a stop to ticket transfer then. Meaning more empty seats?
It was mentioned by the club during the City Matters meeting in Feb.
They will say It will be to stop away fans getting in the home ends but really it will be to stop ticket transfer to anyone or selling your ticket to anyone via fb etc so the club can get it back and sell for £70 plus to a member. They will be banning people left right and centre if that technology does come into play!

Might not be an option soon with the facial recognition technology possibly coming into play!
Utd have brought that in this season, when you buy your season ticket you must have picture of your face which has to be sent in to the club

I’m ( almost ) certain that they trialled it in some hospitality areas before lockdown. Obviously the intention would have been to spread it to general punters if successful.

Not heard it mentioned since though. Until now.

I sit similarly right at the back on the end, next to the steward. And it’s not uncommon for tourist types to have totally legit tickets, presumably bought from agencies, for seats that don’t even exist.

I saw one with my own eyes on one of the European games for Row XX in the family stand tier 1. Think it goes up to DD at the very back in most blocks.

Why do you have 4 tickets?

I don't understand people who say this.

I have 1 S/T and my lad has a F/G.

I wouldn’t say I have 2 tickets, even though I pay for them both.
