What is our strongest XI when everyone is fit?

You’re not alone. I was on my way to the stadium when I saw the lineup and my first thought was to go home. After 25 minutes I was thinking about making a dash for the exit. I stuck it out to the end and like you I was happy to be proved wrong.

New RB potentially I currently agree. But i am higher on Rico than most. I think we might soon find put we've had him all along.

I think RCB is Khusa or Dias competition.

LCB is Gvardiol for sure.

New LB, i also can see. Even though i personally trust NOR.

DM: Rodri, Nico G, Kova

CM/AM: Gundo, Foden, Bobb. Need 1 or 2

AML: Marmoush, Doku
AMR: Savio, Mcatee

Striker: Haaland

I think Echeveri ea one of the AM/ CM spots. Leaving 1 spot for a big name ( Wirtz, Reindjers, Cherki etc)


It may not be as big as we thought. 2 FBs and a top CM may be all we need.

Get our players fit and sign replacements for Walker and KDB and we will challenge for the title again. Had Rodri been fit, I don't think we would have gone on that awful run of results in November and December where we lost most of our PL matches.

Yes I tend to agree. As bad as we've been and given all our injuries we're still challenging for the top 4/5. If we can carry on the form against Palace from once we were 2-0 down we could win the cup. The bright side to this season is fringe players like Rico, Nico and James MacAtee have all gained experience they might not have got otherwise. We have the new players bedding in as well.With Rodri back and possibly three top established players joining we should be strong for next season.

Marmoush is a 20 goal a season striker and next season I think he will play alongside Haaland and Bobb. This is a season of transition but we have done half of the rebuilding. The biggest doubt is whether Rodri makes a full recovery. If he does, then City will be strong next season even without replacing Walker and KDB.

Think that woukdnt be a strong enough squad

We absolutely need a right back and left back
We definitely need two CM's ...even with gundo staying...he needs to be a bit part player...against yge best he cannot do it anymore

I'm undecided on Sav and Doku.....like them bith and Sav definitely needs more time...but are either going to add goals and assists regularly.
McAtee- like him bit can he push himself to the next level ? Hooe he can but I think ultimately he is going to be a level beliow

Don't disagree with you. Right back and Left back are needs. But everywhere else what we really have are question marks.

Will Foden rebound or will he go the route of Mason Mount? Will Doku and Savio become more than flash players snd start contributing consistently with goals and assists? Are Bobb and Echeveri potentially World Class or just mercurial young talents who will fade to middle of the road status? Can Maca expand his game and game time?

None of these questions are answerable at the moment. At least not from the perspective of a fan.

The question in the summer becomes how much trust do we put on the above young players and how much do we bring in to replace or improve production?

Personally, i understand the need to bring in Full backs. Even Pep has acknowledged that. But outside of that, i don't think there is space for more than 1 more CM/AM player.

So we really probably should focus on high end talent. Wirtz, Cherki, Reijnders.etc But, i sense it going to be just one player outside of full backs and potentially a keeper depending on Eddy.

We don't have long to wait now for this. A Bobb goal from off of the bench may coincide with Haaland's return, and then it will be all systems go.

The interim job is to get us to the FA Cup Final.

The 2nd interim job is to get Rodri back.

And the Final job is to say goodbye to KDB with this forward line, and Rodri by his side.

Always be hopeful. We've got the best coach in football even if at times he is unfathomable and we've got the best youth team set-up in the English game.

Generally agree with you, but this is a crazy comparison Dax! Mount has done fuck all in football, he's had a couple OKAY seasons at best - incomparable to Foden. We've burnt him out and England on top of that has taken its toll. I do wonder what kind of help we are giving to him, you see someone like Bellingham who had huge seasons with Real Madrid and still managed to get up for England and Real Madrid the next season on.

Kevs in if fully fit. Still our most creative player by a mile. Said he's only been pain free for a few weeks.

I quite like Marmoush's movement up top, offers something different to Erling. Far better on the ball too. Reminded me a bit of the 'false 9' season on Saturday when we were going forward. Less said about the defense the better though. Brave man to pick Omar ahead of Big Erl just through his weight of goals, but think you have to fit Marmoush in the 11 somewhere.

It's not yhe numbers ...its the quality bring talked about that is a concern......MGW, Xavi Simons, etc........so far below what we are losing ..long way back to the top with that level of signing

Definetly need 1 very good ready to go winger in this team.
