Thats the point in which the parents should rally together share their views then approach the school to discuss - I am certain something can be worked out such as a separate changing facility (small room somewhere ) where the tans person can change alone without bothering the rest of the class.

Two points to be made here

If a boy has hormone blockers and so dont go through puberty means they have no more strength or testorone than women born as women , they are on oestrogen and those who have gender reasignment have their bits removed that produce male hormones and that renders them as female as women born as women

Transwomen have been competing for years and very few have won gold medals so they do not have a big advantage do they

Transwomen using disabled toilets is not the answer , they are not disabled and a disabled person needs to have access to them. Where are all the massive cases of trans attacking females in toilets ? Just one or two high profile cases and they were men pretending to be women

Puberty blockers for children are all very Dr Frankenstein as far as I'm concerned and are now illegal in the UK I believe. Trans who have gone through male puberty have a huge physical advantage though, that's without doubt scientifically.

I agree with a lot of your post - but the “cats” stuff is not made-up nonsense. Our local secondary school has a 13 year old who identifies as an animal

As said earlier in the thread a class mate of my 15 year old has a classmate who is allowed to wear a furry tail to school. I am fine with people thinking what they like about their identity but at some stage objective reality has to come in. The girl isn’t a cat. She’s a 15 year old girl and needs to be helped to work through what is actual reality

Where do people get changed or relieve themselves publicly? SWIM told me ladies use cubicles and men have an option. Festivals just have individual outlets as do many venues. It’s a nothing issue.

It’s an actual issue as there have been a host of legal judgments concerning people suffering detriment for holding gender critical views. There’s a Scottish nurse facing ruin right now in fact

There’s a middle ground for me where it’s about social acceptance and that doesn’t have to mean much change to social operation, which is what I’d argue we have done for other groups.

I don't think any sane people have a problem with live and let live but you always need legalities in life. I don't care how people dress, what they call themselves or even what gender they want to call themselves. Unfortunately though the sex they were born is what they are. We can all wish to be something else but that doesn't mean everyone else is under any obligation to recognise it .

Just want to express my support and solidrity with trans and gender non conforming people in light of the cruel and continuing hostility they're facing.

I know there are people on this forum who have people close to them who are impacted by this news too so I hope they're all feeling OK.

I'd also issue a plea to the mods to simply lock this thread if they don't have the time or energy to moderate it. There just isn't any point in mentioning transphobia in the forum rules when it quickly starts to run rampant in threads like this.
