Huh????Kick off is earlier than the Leicester game a few weeks back.
Bit confused by that one - that was a midweek fixture that I doubt could have been played in the afternoon??

Wow - the "gang of oldies" you refer to kept our venerable club afloat during the tough times.Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.
It’s 2025 lads, society’s changed, we don’t all work 9-5 anymore, all football games don’t kick off at 3pm on a Saturday, move with the times ffs
erm Middle aged if you don't mind.Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.

Yes society has changed, it always has, but are all changes for the better? And who exactly benefits from this change?Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.

You’re being deliberately dick-ish here but I’ll play along.Your kids must get in later then for midweek games then.
Great speech, but....Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.

That’s not right that pal. Maybe reconsider and remove this BS.Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.

Its a great time to watch a match on TV. Its a shit time for anyone who wants to go to the game. It just shows which is most important to the powers that be.Christ it’s just struck me this thread is awash with the same gang of oldies who infiltrate the cup semi threads banging on non stop about Wembley and trains.

Great speech, but....
What about Bournemouth fans? If it was the reverse of this fixture would you tell the travelling Blues the same ?
What about Blues who live outside Greater Manchester who have work or take kids ?
It's the last home match of the season, the ones where the players normally fuck off for half an hour before coming back out in flip flops.
It's Kevs last game.
This society's changed thing is great if you're sat in front of your tv filling your face with crisps and shite lager.
It isn't so great if you actually attend the match.
And here ladies and gentleman is the answer / reason for this change.Great speech, but....

....as do our own club, unfortunately. And here ladies and gentleman is the answer / reason for this change.
Sadly, those of you attending a game in person are contributing a mere fraction of the finances the game turns over and Covid proved that, in a nut shell, the game doesn't need you. So the Premier League very politely requests that you just fuck off with your moaning.........
Does that mean I can put you down for the coach we are running next season to City v TBA.The reality is, whether we like it or not is that approximately 600 million people on average watch each Premier League match.
Now ‘football without fans is shit’ is a great throwaway line, but if you’re running a business that has to take into consideration 600,050,000 punters, how much do you really care about the 50,000?
I wouldn’t be happy no but at least I wouldn’t be getting a dart chucked in my eye in the ground or a random kicking from the dibble outside on my way home. Not all changes are for the worse.Yes society has changed, it always has, but are all changes for the better? And who exactly benefits from this change?
Not the majority of match going fans. But hey, you just sit there and accept every little change they keep adding because hey! It’s 2025 boys and things change.
Will you be happy when City v Bournemouth is being played in Orlando at midnight UK time because it’s not 1974 anymore?
For over thirty years. I'm surprised nobody noticed it earlier.Match day fans have been treated as little more than unpaid extra's in a TV production for years now.
It’s not a KO time I personally like at all - last one I went to was the women’s derby this season and didn’t care for it - but hasn’t it been true for years that other European countries regularly have matches on Sunday evening?I wouldn’t be happy no but at least I wouldn’t be getting a dart chucked in my eye in the ground or a random kicking from the dibble outside on my way home. Not all changes are for the worse.
nth degree scenarios aside, plenty of people like later kick offs especially on a Sunday - gives them a chance to have a lie in, maybe pop round to a family member for a Sunday roast and still have time to get to the match in the evening. Many fans have busy lives to lead outside of watching City
Excellent replyYou’re being deliberately dick-ish here but I’ll play along.
They don’t go to midweek games, they’re primary school kids. We put their tickets on the exchange. We are going to the wolves game even though we can’t leave Edinburgh until half three and will likely miss a lot of the first half at least. Then we drive home, after, at best 2 hours in Manchester. That’s because it’s a Saturday the next day.
Midweek games are telegraphed months in advance, there are weeks set aside for midweek fixtures. We know in July.
This is a few weeks’ notice - and counts as a “weekend” fixture.
When I fork out thousands for season tickets it’s good to know in advance how many games we can get to.
I hope that’s ok for you. And I apologise my 8 year olds aren’t as big a blue as you.
Often wonder how many of these lot were around back in the day of the third and second division.Wow - the "gang of oldies" you refer to kept our venerable club afloat during the tough times.
Oh how dare we have an opinion on things these days.
Things change - on occasion you might consider them to have changed to the detriment of something you love, meaning your opinion may be negative.
Once you've stopped popping your zits and using those tissues, have some respect for the opinions of those of us who've seen more of life.
I won't see your reply btw
