He had a stinker of a half at Bournemouth but unfair to leave him out since. He is a better option than Lewis and you'd think a part of our rebuild

The recent international break did the lad no favours, he went back home and was treated like the second coming and maybe Pep wanted to bring him back to earth with a period out of the 11.
how do u come up with that ? He met up with his future wife that’s all.

He was given a G wagon by the head of the Uzbek FA, was followed round by camera crews etc

He has become a superstar his his own country, what I said is not a criticism , just an observation.

I think Pep just does this at times for no reason. Gets a new signing, plays him for a run of games and then leaves him out of the team for a while for no reason.
He'd have to play right back at the minute as the Dias-Gvardiol partnership is looking very good

No reason, the finest manager of his generation and a man players would run through a brick wall for has no reason to do what he does?

Really?

He's a young kid who's moved to a new country and has a huge learning curve. Got absolutely no problem with him being taken out of the firing line for a few weeks whilst we try to get over the line.

It's exactly what Lewis needed when he was clearly struggling but having to play every week due to other players' availability

The Uzbeki Wilfried Bony...?

If so, I look forward to seeing his dance videos.

Like you suggest... Probably just Pep's way of getting his feet back on the ground.

He did, he was hooked at half time and not played since. Do you know something I don't? He gave it away a fair few times that first half and out us under pressure. I love the guy, I find it weird that no blue will hear a bad word about him.
I remember the match well.
I don't recall him giving the ball away.
I do recall him recovering back well to close down a deflected shot.
He was hooked for tactics, not performance.
Personally, I'm ok with any player being called out for poor performance but this wasn't one of them.

YMMV obviously.

If you don't recall him giving the ball away then you don't remember the match well. I was there, in the corner where I watched him twice give the ball away. Where he once got in front of the attacker only for the attacker to then somehow get back round him and get the ball. He also passed the ball to players under a lot of pressure or a player up their arse. That last one is probably an instruction and having trust in your teammates but some looked stupid to me. He got subbed off and hasn't been seen since. His performance wasn't bad enough to play no minutes since and prior to Bournemouth he had been great. Can't wait for him being back in the side

Part of the reason he was taken off at Bournemouth was his booking in the first half, at that point we were struggling a bit for defenders, so there was a risk of a red card as he does like a tackle.

In making the sub for Nico O'Reilly Pep has stumbled onto a different solution that is (largely) working with Gvardiol and O'Reilly.

Khusanov will be back soon enough.

Maybe, but he then wouldn't have been left out each game since, with the likes of Rico and Nunes getting the nod. I would have him at right back over anyone else. Funny how we have "stumbled" into Gvardiol at centre half. Who'd have thought a centre half playing centre half might do a job

If it wasn't for all the injuries we've had, he might only have made sub appearances so far like Reis.

Pep has preferred Rico and Nunes at RB since Walker left, personally I think he'd probably play Akanji ahead of all of them, but he can't. I think too much has been expected so far from Khusanov, and he has stepped up, but I think Pep is still integrating him into the squad at the moment, and he won't be doing himself many favours keep getting bookings, because a suspended defender is about the same usefullness as an injured one.

Luckily we have Pep in charge and not anyone posting on here.

Agree with me or not, but Pep is killing his confidence. I understand taking him out of the spotlight, etc., this all makes sense, but this guy was our player of the month, rock solid, MOTM pretty much every time he started, and we bench him for many weeks/months? I don't think this is good for him or us.
