this is a really tough one kdb is a legend of this football club and sad to see him go but is it the right time to go all depends on who we bring in to replace him

There was no offer.

Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't mean there was no discussion. The whole he felt wronged, he should have been the one to choose, he would have turned it down but should have been offered a token 100k a week (more disrespectful than nothing perhaps) thing is pure speculation

Nobody knows what Kev wants in all of this, we don't know all of the details because it hasn't been played out in the press.

Maybe he wants to leave?
Maybe he wants a longer contract that is being offered?
Maybe he doesn't want a pay cut?
Maybe he hasn't actually been offered a contract?

Only the club and Kev and his agents will know that.

All that is nothing but personal conjecture and innuendo though.

Because ultimately people are obsessed with the idea of the club doing wrong by everyone.

No, not on my part, I stand by what the club and Pep choose to do, right or wrong, we move forward
KDB knew the situation and could have had many talks about his future over the last year or so.

The club is not offering him a new contract, maybe wrong, maybe right, it's just my view.
Yes, I would have liked him to stay or control his leaving, somebody should have asked Kevin do you want to stay

I for one think he should stay, but many others think it's the right time to move, That's how a fan site forum works

As per the interview i feel the way this seems to have been handled (a brief meeting) for such an integral part of our success is leaving a bit of a shit taste, would have hoped he could have made a sideways move to NYC with no ill feelings on any side.

He said in an interview the club didn’t offer him a contract.

It doesn't matter how they put it, No offer was made to KDB.
The debate has value for both staying and leaving, But Kevin should have been in control, and an offer made ?

Also, it's not sentimental or being ruthless, KDB has earned the respect of a new deal for me, Kevin should have that option, He probably would have turned it down anyway, merciless, cruel,
No. The club should always be in control

He might end up somewhere like Everton next season if he feels like he can stop do it in the Premier League.

I don’t think many clubs in Europe will be able to afford his wages.

I’m not sure he’s ready to retire to the MLs just yet. His skin would preclude a move to Saudi.

He also had been openly inviting offers from Saudi for the last two seasons at least.

They are all grown-ups and professionals here, and discussions would have been fair and mature.

People are being too precious, again, and rushing to believe rumours straight out of the sam lee school of attention-seeking.

Agreed. People commenting who have no idea what has gone on between Kevin and the club. Speculation.

That interview tells me its the right time to go as he has stopped being honest with himself, he may feel he can still play at this level but his performances and injury record tell a diff story, he had a great game against palace but was anonymous again yest as he was against the rags, as much as a legend as he is if u take off the blue tinted glasses he has been a bit part player for two years and that is likely to continue and just because he feels that he can still play at this level doesnt make it so which is unfortunate but time beats us all

Think he can still fulfil a job for someone, isn’t he still top for the Pl chances created this season?

He just needs to be used sparingly and in the right system, could see him moving to an Italian club and still being very successful.

I think he is yes but im nt sure what they class as a chance, its what u said tho can any team carry a player who ur going to get 20-25 games a season from at best and since he announced he was leaving hes been completely anonymous in 2 out of 3 games, like i said he is a legend of that there is no doubt but he also has to be honest with himself 2

No you can't,Kev.
You haven't been able to since the Hamstring fell apart.

Because your fitness isn't what it was, you haven't got that last 5% left to time your passing accurately so since your return, with an odd exception, you couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

The PL is too fast for you.

There is a vidoe of him saying he wasn't offered a renewal

No speculation about it, he thinks he can still do a job, the club are not offering that, unless we suddenly make a U-turn he is gone in a few weeks.

It’s sad though that it seems to be petering out this way, feels a tad unnecessary.

I think we’ve made the right decision, he was hopeless again yesterday, and if we are going for the full rebuild then a clean sweep is probably the best way.
