FA Cup SF Draw | Nott'm Forest | Sun 27 April 16:30 | ITV1

Presume you don't go to aways then mate?
'Where are the young fans'????
Missed about 4 or 5 aways this year. Mostly young lads at the aways which is why the atmosphere is brilliant. Or am I missing something here?
At the swamp the other week I actually said to my mate. 'Wow do I feel my age'..I am 51 by the way
I actually thought that there were loads of older lads at Trafford this year although I'd had a few sherberts so may be wrong.
Agree 100% that the youngsters at aways make the atmosphere what it is although there's not enough of them at home games as a percentage of the total attendance to make a substantial difference to the noise levels.

Totally sympathise with people who are struggling financially plus it’s a fair reason if their kids have exams etc but there are many supporters ( unfortunately including quite a few of my friends, colleagues who are not struggling financially ) who simply can’t be bothered to go next Sunday and hide behind a multitude of excuses.

The same people moan about the so called ‘Tourists’….well it’s a good job we have them because we certainly can’t sell out at the moment…..and you can bet your life they will be moaning if they can’t get a final ticket should we beat Forest.

My two children…(now grown up) used to go and watch the blues when we were really crap, in the vain hope that we would reach Wembley in either a Semi or a Final……same as me….there was always that glimmer of hope…..I’ve been watching City since Bell Lee and Summerbee ( although my favourite was Neil Young) but I certainly would not want to go back to the misery of the 1980’s, 1990’s and early 2000’s when in reality our only hope was a quarter final place in a cup and to finish away from danger in the league.

Guess what….supporting a successful club does mean extra matches, cup finals etc etc…….if you can’t or don’t want to attend…don’t spoil it for the rest.

You are correct there is too much negativity on here and although our management team don’t get everything right we couldn’t wish for better owners.

That is quite a passionate post, and mirrors my thoughts exactly.

Every year desperate for a Cup run only to be annually disappointed.

My only slight issue is that Nelly was your favourite -:)

A proportion of a 3k away crowd is nowt,

You must be surrounded by 50+ at home, no problem with that, I'm one, but making it harder and more expensive for kids, teenagers and younger fans to go is only going to end up one way, no next generation.

As an example, my lad plays footy and has about 20+ footy mates.
Only 3 go to games regularly, all with their parents.

The unsold tickets for tmrw should be getting bought by youngsters for like £15, not going unsold at £50+

Spot on. Loads can’t be arsed, forget the excuses, they just can’t be arsed. Man City in the semi final of the fa cup. It could be on the moon and I’d want to be there. I’ll never not be grateful to the owners for what they’ve given us. Likely another semi final we won’t sell out. The club will be giving away tickets all week.

If we’d somehow manage to get hold of 27K tickets for an away QF in London and sold them out, people would be talking about it in 50 years as one of the all time great away followings.

But because it’s one round later, it’s ‘crap’
That’s a very good take on things

I see the other 3 Semi Finalists are showing as sold out (I think)

Is it known how many they have sold (without guessing).

I'm sorry I can't be arsed.(in your opinion)

But I'm not lining the pockets of the FA again, and again, and again, and again........ for another FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley.

Enjoy your day out. I'm sure the FA appreciate your support for City and the FA Cup Semi-Final being held at Wembley once again.

BTW, Shirley.

I went to Bournemouth away in the last round of the FA Cup.

Why? Because I have over 25,000 loyalty points. And I'm in the FA Cup scheme. I was lucky to get a ticket.

You know why other people didn't go?

Because it was on Sunday Afternoon. It was a rearranged match for TV. People had work the next morning. Etc. But I didn't slag them off.

I won't line the pockets of the FA. Like many City fans now won't.

All very true, I can't afford the semi as me and my son decided to do Southampton away and we'll get no change out of 350 quid for that game alone , we will go to the final if we make it , but again that will be probably another 5-600 quid at least for the pair of us .

Should have booked on our coach to Southampton

Only £46 a seat

Save you loads of money

We still have seats and plenty of tickets still on sale if anyone interested

Why come on the internet and tell the world you are going. Just go. Don't boast about it. Bizarre. Enjoy the game.
I won’t be going as I’m now retired to sunnier climates so I’m certainly not boasting.
I’ll be watching on tv though if that’s ok with you.

A quick google search reveals that in 2022 there were 182,000 people aged 15-19 in Greater Manchester

We've been the best team in Manchester since April 16th 2011 and a whole generation of kids who were starting school then and are now young adults should be thronging the Etihad at every home game, creating a bouncing, vibrant atmosphere. They're local blues who've grown up idolising City's trophy winning heroes, pretending to be Aguero in the school playground, doing the Poznan with their mates etc etc and they can't get tickets and if they can they can't afford them and if they could get them and afford them they'd soon stop coming because the ground is full of ageing greys interspersed with tourists and plastics, and consequently match days are boring as fuck.

It's too late now, we've missed our chance to convert this generation. Soriano and Khaldoon have absolutely fucked it and unless we become as dominant as Real Madrid (we won't), our fanbase will shrink and shrink in the coming years.

Many wanted to go Bournemouth, myself included but couldn't go why cos it was sold out
You won't go to the semi cos you won't line the pockets of the FA but will probably go to the final and pay for a more expensive ticket.
You are still lining the pockets of the F A .
some people need better excuses for not being arsed to go to lesser games cos it's getting silly

£35 is hardly lining the pockets of the FA
