People seem to have forgotten that we are a completely average team with a very average squad pep plays gundo bernardo kovacic and Kev because he trusts them have I missed something or have the players on the bench been world beaters the way some people react to team news on here you would think we had prime yaya David silva and Fernandinho on the bench.

It's the fact they have matt cash at full back and we aren't looking to exploit that. And again playing kovacic at the 6. If doku comes on much earlier today then I can forgive it somewhat.

Well to say that midfield is underwhelming is a massive understatement.

Villa will walk through that and we are going to be in trouble.
After years of seeing a deep block at the Etihad I never thought I would see City play it.

Honestly, it's the exact same comments every week for the last two months. We've lost once in nine games, playing a very similar team throughout that whole period - and the game we lost was a narrow 1-0.

Every week we're going to get "torn apart by the opponent's pace" and our "dad's army midfield" will never keep up. It's literally not happened once. United didn't tear us apart with their counter pace, Palace didn't, Bournemouth didn't, Spurs didn't, Forest didn't (though they did beat us narrowly).

You think at some point they'd learn...

Not the point, doku will force villa to double which opens space up elsewhere or allow doku almost a free passage at the defence and something will eventually come of that. And mcatee and bernardo are hardly smashing up the end product either

Despite everyone’s moaning, I’m pretty sure our record is very good when Kev, Gundo and Kovacic have started together. I didn’t really want to see Bernardo on the right as but it is what it is.
